Dr. Herminee O Alexanian, MD

Dr. Alexanian is a great doctor. She listens to the problem. She explains herself and her line of thinking/diagnosis. Without going into too much personal detail, she figured out a breathing problem my son had for many many months and in the end - her treatment and persistence as a doctor cured my son. I wish I could have said that it was my persistence as his mother, but it really was her knowledge of children and what is normal and what is not normal. I would recommend her to any parent.

My kids love seeing Dr. Alexanian. She is so kind and truly loves her job. She really knows what she is doing - she always seems to make my kids feel better.

My 6yr old son was being seen for severe headaches. When Dr. Hermione Alexanian first came into the room she first turned to me and asked if I had migraines. When I answered "yes" she replied with " that's what he has". At this point she had not spoken to or examined my son at all. She then said that they were hereditary and that was why he had them. When I asked about a course of treatment she said prevention was easier. So she suggested that I keep track of diet and activities on the days when they occurred. I then asked about any testing, specifically a head ct. She responded that she didn't want to expose him to unnecessary radiation, and that he should be fine, things like this really aren't a big deal and kids are resilient. At this point I told her that I really wanted a head ct. I told her of our family history, last year my younger son died of unexplained causes, and with this being a head issue I insisted on a ct scan. At this point she became interested in my younger… deceased child. Asking questions and essentially trying to diagnose his passing. She was much more focused on my deceased child than the living child in front of her. When my 6 yr old asked why his head hurt she said because he was "smart" when he asked about the accompanying neck pain she said "sometimes we just have pain". She eventually agreed to the ct scan, but it was "just so I could sleep at night". When she told the nurse to do the order she told her it was for severe headaches. Then turned to me and said "we have to say that because they don't do them for no reason". My child IS having severe headaches that DO NOT resemble migraines in the least, had she examined him she would have known that. Migraines do not last 10 minutes, and are unusual in a 6year old child. I just received a notice from Tricare that this doctor is in fact my childs PCM, I will be changing this asap. I will not be bringing my child back to this doctor for even a sore throat.

speaking from my experience with her,i really don't like her services.she will give you fake smiles but you can tell she doesn't really care about the kids.you can tell when someone is passionate about her job,and trust me she isn't.she doesn't like it when you don't agree with her about your child's symptoms.she can be rude too.but truly just save yourself time and look for another pediatrician for your kids.
