Dr. Hisham Galal Korraa, MD

The best psychiatrist in Newport Beach. Dr. Hisham Korraa is a highly skilled and very professional doctor. His staff is excellent! I highly recommend his psychiatry & medical services.

Treats insurance cards like credit cards. Like most psychiatrists, thinks people are chemical test tubes. Will drug you until you stop complaining. If that does not work, he’ll send you to his pals at College Hospital who will literally electrocute you until you can’t feel anything at all!!

In my opinion, Dr. Korraa is a very exceptional psychiatrist. What makes him stand out, to me, is that he uses knowledge of psychology, along with his knowledge of the brain, mental health, mental illness, and medicine. That combination allows him to diagnose and to more fully treat his patients. His staff is caring, extremely competent, and compassionate. I have been seeing Dr. Korraa for the past several years and have had the best treatment of my illness under his care, and with Julie and Diana's help. I really appreciate the opportunity to work with this group of quite amazing people. I recommend Dr. Korraa and his staff to anyone looking for an exceptional partner in managing their mental health.

I have been seeing dr, korraa for a long time. I don't like when he goes on long vacation and doen't have a back up in case I have an emergency. There no way to get hold of him. When you have to talked him on the phone he charges $150.00. I feel this is unfair for people who don't have the money. He doesn't care about his patient. He is always going on vacation every other month.

I have been seeing Dr. Korraa for years. He has always been available and he gets back to me even when away from his office whether over the week-ends or on vacation. I have been seen by many psychiatrists in the past. I recommend Dr. Korraa withouit hesitation.

If you are filthy rich, he could be a good doctor for you. He sure cares for you when you pay him well, but if you're running out of money, he stops caring just like turning off his TV with a remote. Good luck. Plus, he often takes a long vacation. (Usually 2 weeks, sometimes 1 month. And his office will be closed during his vacation time.)

Extremely professional and thoughtful. Made a huge difference in my ability to manage my PTSD. If you think you need help, don't wait like I did. Dr. Korraa has been most helpful and I am grateful for his expertise.

Dr. Korraa is the best Dr. He truly saved my life and always made time for me when I needed an emergency apt. He is very kind and compassionate.

Dr. Korraa kept changing my diagnosis. He couldn't decide on a diagnosis. That made me uneasy about the treatment I was getting. I told Dr. Korraa about how I was being beaten by my family and was suffering greatly. He looked at me and said, "You have a Victim Mentality." He was rather cold and aloof. He told me, "You will NEVER recover. You will NEVER work again. You will NEVER go to grad school again. You will only get worse." If I will only worse what do I need him for? What is the point? He gave NO HOPE. He gave me NO encouragement. Instead he tore me apart and made me feel stupid, inadequate and ridiculous for wanting to recover. He continually told me, "Recovery was pointless and would never happen for me." I can better, nicer treatment from an enemy than I can from Dr. Korra. He was not very helpful. Yes, he found out I have a medical issue that needs to be addressed, but other than that he was not very helpful. Every appointment I felt I had to ready myself to stand up to him… against his insults and assaults on my happiness. I shouldn't feel that way going to the doctor. I feel he did more harm than good with his rude, snarky comments and belittling me. My self esteem is suffering after seeing him. I feel WORSE about myself instead of better. No doctor should attack a patient personally and make them feel bad, but Dr. Korraa does. I heard other patients yelling at him while I waited in the lobby. I was not the only person angry and upset with him. His attitude is not nice. It is like he is somewhat hostile to his patients. He is nice at first, but that attitude soon changes to one of impatience and disregard. I do not think he is a very patient person over the long haul.

The absolute best in his field, and I have been "treated" by several psychiatrists. Dr. Korraa is kind, professional, and very caring. Other doctors just seem to want to write you a prescription, and get you out of their office as quickly as possible; but not Dr. Korraa. He takes his time, and seeks to find out the underlying source of your particular issues, instead of just masking the symptoms with medication. His voice is calm & soothing; he endeavors to relax you, while gently guiding you through your issues. I have no health insurance at the moment; however, I was more than willing to pay full price to be treated by this awesome, gentle Doctor. I highly recommend Dr. Korraa!!
