Did not even examine me and said I was healed when I was not. Another Dr. had to do surgery after she said I was OK

Dr. Richter is wonderful as a physician and has a great bedside manner. She is a very caring person and sympathetic to her patients needs. She goes over and beyond to make sure that the patient understands everything about the diagnosis and is always comfortable physically and emotionally.

Dr. Richter wants everyone to think she is the best doctor. However, if you dare question her diagnosis get ready for her to be very hateful, mean, and down right rude. She will not try to figure out the solution to the problem. Patients are putting themselves in a very dangerous and possible fatal outcome if they allow Dr. Richter to be their doctor. In the beginning Dr. Richter will start off very nice telling you how smart she is and trying to prove to you that she knows everything. However, if anything goes wrong she will not take responsibility for her actions.

I had an extremely satisfying experience with Dr Richter. She and her team took time to explain thigs to me and care for me before surgery, in the hospital, and after surgery. I have recommended her to family and friends

Dr Richter came across as a caring and understanding doctor with a good bedside manner...until things went wrong. She then became easily upset, negligent, outright rude, and disrespectful. This led to apologies on her behalf from her staff as well as a kind letter of apology from herself (though a bit too late for me--having some loudly insult you simply for existing while you wait on the other side of the door in a paper gown is upsetting and humiliating). I should mention that my surgery did not go smoothly. I was sent home with internal bleeding and though I feel this should have been spotted by Dr Richter while I was in the hospital for several days following the surgery, it is hard to say whether it is her fault or not. People do make mistakes. Several days after my release, I came in for a catheter appointment and the nurse took one look at me and ordered a hematocrit test STAT. Turns out that I had nearly bled out and I had to be hospitalized for multiple blood transfusions. Though this was traumatic, I continued to believe in Dr Richter through 8 more weeks of prolonged bleeding and pain, and then a second surgery due to inflammation caused by the hematoma (from the bleeding) until my trust ended when she loudly violated HIPPA by cursing me in the hallway outside the room where I was waiting for my appointment. This is the episode which led to the apologies from her and her staff. I will not write the things that were said but I will say that it was entirely unprofessional and nearly unbelievable. I have heard stories of surgeons disliking patients whose recoveries don't go smoothly as these patients remind them that they are not perfect. I now believe this is true. As someone who hates to be the person who went in for something "routine" and came out with severe blood loss, a repeat surgery, and numerous other complications, I can say that I don't think the doctor should be asking for my sympathy. Today, I am awaiting surgery to repair the first surgery which has completely fallen apart (only a little over one year later). Again, I won't lay the blame on Dr Richter as many prolapse surgeries fail...but I will say that the way I was treated and the 8 weeks of inflammatory bleeding that was ignored until the subsequent surgery surely did not help my healing. Her nursing staff is excellent and her receptionist could not have been nicer.
