Dr. Hong Jin Kim

Dr. Kim is the most competent, impressive healthcare provider I have encountered. After my mother received a terminal unresectable pancreatic cancer diagnosis, I was able to get her in for a consult with Dr. Kim. Rather than just confirming the previous surgeon’s prognosis, Dr. Kim and his time spent time explaining her response to chemotherapy, working alongside her medical oncologist to create a collaborative team of world-class physicians. After finishing her 8 rounds chemotherapy, the tumor had shrunk enough for a diagnostic laparoscopy and Dr. Kim recommended a distal pancreatectomy with splenectomy, which he had already booked my mother for prior to her arrival. My mother not only respected Dr. Kim, she told everyone she knew that he directly provided her quality of life that she never thought she would have again. I got to spend over a year with my mother due to Dr. Kim choosing to perform an elective surgery on a rural patient from an underrepresented population and not only… changed the remainder of her life, but also her family. He’s compassionate & knowledgeable, but also honest and realistic. Yes, there may be a wait after being brought back, but to consult with the chief of surgical oncology, I can provide reassurance that it will be worth it. He’s the best there is.

In May of 2021 a Doctor found a cyst in my pancreas. After seeing a gastroenterologist he referred me to Dr. Kim. Dr. Kim did procedures to help determine what type of cyst it was & a Whipple Surgery was performed. I know God had me in the palm of his hands but he also was taking care of Dr. Kim’s hands while performing the surgery. What a wonderful surgeon Dr. Kim is. I was very blessed that my reports came back benign. I will forever be grateful. I think one of the biggest compliments is that a surgeon I know said that in all of his 20 plus years of medical practice he has never seen someone do so well after a Whipple Surgery. He stated that on a scale of 10 out of 10 I was a 100 and the reason why was because I had a Great Surgeon! That’s Dr. Kim. Thank you!

Dr. Hong Jin Kim is an amazing Doctor. He's kind, honest, patient and told me exactly what I was dealing with and what he was going to do to fix it. I had a tumor on my left kidney that was cancerous, a ruptured Appendix and a Hernia that needed repaired; he fixed it all during surgery; he also told me I would possibly lose my left Kidney, Pancreas, Spleen, cut part of my Colon and would have to wear a colostomy bag permanently…...but God!!! None of that happened, thanks to God and Dr. Kim and I was discharged with NO PAIN MEDS. Lord I thank you and I'm forever grateful to Dr. Kim because he saved my life. Dr. Kim ROCKS!!!!!!!

Dr. Kim is a wonderful Dr. He saved my life. In 2013. I was found to have a tumor on the pancreas. It was cancerous. Dr. Kim was kind and compassionate. I am here today because of Dr. Kim. Thank you Dr. Kim! God bless you!

Dr Kim preformed my surgery for Pancreatic Cancer about one year ago. He not only is a great surgeon but he is also a kind and caring man. He has always been honest with me about my cancer and has done so in a kind and thoughtful way. He always treats me like I'm his only patient and he has all the time I need. I'm forever thankful to this man for not only his great skills but for his kindness.

I was shocked at the age of 30 to find out that I had a pancreatic tumor. Dr. Kim performed a whipple surgery. The surgery saved my life. I am happy and healthy and looking forward to starting a family. I can't thank Dr. Kim enough for what he has done. From his positive attitude to his perfectionism to his sometimes 12 hour work days.
