Dr. Hooman Melamed, MD

I was introduced to Dr. Melamed for a revision surgery needed after being ejected from a Jeep and bursting my T5 vertebrae leaving me paralyzed from the chest down. If you seek a surgeon who listens, treats you as an individual and follows the most up to date surgical approaches HE IS your doctor. For example, my first surgeon did hardly anything leaving a ton of work left to be done (improper fixation, wrong equipment and left my spinal cord crushed). Instead of rushing mine to get more patients in, he dedicated his ENTIRE surgical day just for me so he wasn’t pressured to hurry and get to the next. He took the time to explain everything down to each little detail which is very hard to find these days. His office staff is very punctual and cohesive as well so nothing goes unnoticed. I cannot thank him enough for what he did for me because if I hadn’t found him my fixation would have failed resulting in further complications. I am now two years removed from injury/surgery and… everything is strong and permanent allowing me to continue on with a new normal life. I challenge you to find another world renowned surgeon like Dr. Melamed because he truly is one in a million. THANK YOU DR. Dr. Melamed is simply one of the best. Rather than try to push a surgery or other expensive treatment, he prescribed exercise and stretching. Honesty, integrity and quality; rare to find these days.

Dr. Melamed is an exceptional doctor in his field. I find him to be professional warm kind a good surgeon! And a very good heart!

I am 2 months post surgery now, and so hopeful moving forward. Two of the three painful issues I have had for 20+ years been resolved since surgery. The last is just normal post-op pain. Great Dr, great patient care!!

I had leg pain for over 12 years due to scoliosis, a collapsed vertebrae and pinched nerve. Every doctor recommended fusion, although there was no consensus on how many levels to do and which approach to use. Additionally, everyone told me a decompression would not be possible. Dr. Melamed diagnosed me immediately and recommended a decompression using BESS (biportal endoscopic spine surgery.) No cutting of muscle, no hospital stay, no pain killers. He had me walking the same day. I am 9 weeks post op. My leg pain has dissipated, the nerve tingling is greatly reduced and I have my life back. I know it sounds too good to be true, but trust me, go in for a consult and see if he can help you. I'm eternally grateful to Dr. Melamed and pray that these results continue into the future.
