Dr. Howard M Hertz, MD

I have known Dr. Howard Hertz and Babylon Medical Practice for over 40 years.They are all professional, very capable and courteous. When I first came to Dr. H. Hertz, I had a list of 12-15 problems (ranging from stomach, to skin, to weight, conditions, etc. Slowly, patiently with understanding - Dr. Hertz solved all of my problems. He has been there for me through thick and thin. An excellent, top-notch internist, M.D. - his most amazing ability is to diagnose a patient’s problem very quickly - sometimes on sight - first meeting. This is a most valuable skill a doctor should have. It gives him a true advantage over all of the ailments, illnesses that are facing mankind. This guy is the best! As far as the wait to see the doctor - the truth is that anything that solves the problem is worth the wait. What is that old proverb - ALL GOOD THINGS ARE WORTH WAITING FOR. In conclusion, I would like to note that the videos Dr. Hertz runs in his office are an incredible asset to any true,… higher quality medical practice (Music is healthy for the brain cells and physical recovery). Your mind is immediately transported from your own problems to a more neutral mental place. Also in this morally depressed, artistically insensitive and ignorant culture- HOW IS THIS A BAD THING! Wake up people and smell the coffee. This doctor is an astute professional who brings quality medical service to Long Islanders.

Dr. Hertz has been my primary care physician for years. He and the on site Cardiologist Dr. Cosme saved my life. They pushed me for testing based on my family history of heart disease despite being a healthy runner with no symptoms. I had multiple blockages and needed surgery - but have a new lease on life now!

I have been a patient of Dr. Howard Hertz since 1988. He is an excellent diagnostician; on several occasions he has literally saved my life. Just last March, I went to have my medications refilled. He looked at my file and found I hadn't a recent EKG. Dr. Hertz looked at the EKG and was concerned about what the reading was telling him. He then sent me for a CAT scan of my heart. Within a short time, he sent me to St. Francis where I underwent a procedure to put stints in my heart. When that did not work, I underwent triple by-pass surgery which saved my life. Without his extensive knowledge and compassionate concern, I would not be here today. We need more doctors like Dr. Howard Hertz. Richard P. Maher

Dr. Hertz and his entire staff are absolutely wonderful. I have been going here for well over 35 years. I feel that they genuinely care for me and the rest of their patients. They listen to you, follow up, and make sure you are truly cared for in you needs. Dr Hertz is friendly, you can talk with him about any concern and he will listen. He has a smile and is never dismissive. The PAs Enbal, and Ryan are lovely as well. This is a quality practice with quality people who care. For anyone with questions about negative reviews, ask yourself, is this the Babylon Medical Practice or a disconnect with the patient and insurance carrier that gets put on the Medical staff? As we say in the IT business, 9 times out of 10 the problem is between the keyboard and the chair!

Patient of Dr. Hertz for 37 years. In March of this year, I went to his office to renew prescriptions. During a routine examination, he ordered a EKG. When the results came in, he ordered a Cat Scan of my heart. When the results came in, he called me to come in with my wife. He said I had what was known as a widow maker, and sent me to the Head of Cardiology at St. Francis. Within a few days, I was in St. Francis undergoing a catherization. When that did not resolve the problem, Dr. Sholfmitz recommended a triple by pass operation. It has been over six months since my operatiion. BEWARE-all the good comments are written by a company that the doctor pays for. Please take note of all the negative comments. This doctor is absolutely horrible! He is rude, unethical, and just wants to make money off of his patients by charging your medical insurance! He also drinks on the job! There are many good internists out there-change doctors.

Completely unprofessional I’ve seen him drinking wine at his medicsl center and verbally abusing his staff. He also has had a history of spending hours of his day drinking at Blackstones Steakhouse. If you spend time in his patient waiting area you will see his unprofessional conduct. His primary interest is how much he can bill your insurance company. Your health is a secondary concern.

Wait time is very long. Be prepared to wait 40-70 minutes after appointment time.

The office is run by the PA;s. Getting an appointment is difficult. The wait times average 2 hours. They do not return phone calls timely. They will not do a telemedicine appointment. Completely disorganized. If your need is urgent they will refer you to go to "urgent care"

My family and I have been going to Babylon medical practice for many years and would never go anywhere else. All of the doctors and nurses are top notch. Dr. Howard Hertz found out that I had thyroid cancer because that is one of the tests he does (thyroid sonogram) during a routine physical. I’m so grateful for Dr Hertz for detecting it early because I was able to receive treatment for it and now I’m ok. I would highly recommend Babylon Medical practice to anyone looking for a great set of doctors.
