Dr. Howard Lewkowitz, MD

I saw Dr. Lewkowitz for many years as a PCP and as another reviewer said, he is definitely skeptical and "seemingly" detached. But he really is paying attention even though it may not seem that way and he conducts very thorough assessments. And his judgment was consistently on the spot.

Only interested in squeezing money either from the patient or the insurance! No call backs!

Did not rush me. Very thorough even tho I didn’t have a Gastro problem he tried to get to cause of my pain, which I have had for a few years. He examined me and thoroughly questioned me as no other doctor has done. Highly recommend.

I would recommend Dr. Lewkowitz. He spent plenty of time with me and his assistant was great. However, the front desk women are very difficult and rude to me and to others.

went in for yearly exam-he recommended sonogram .large tumor found on pancreas. very thankful caught early future looks good

Dr. Lewkowitz had been my Dr for about 12 years. He is an excellent doctor. The staff he has have remained with him many years and treat patients efficiently and kindly.He performed a colonoscopy when another doctor failed due to adhesions. He is an excellent diagnostician and always spent time enough to encourage and answer questions.

Physician has deplorable bedside/office manner. Gives the impression that he could care less. Moreover does not like to be questioned. Office staff can be absolutely obnoxious at the front desk. MA/nurse is not too sharp.

Dr. Lewkowitz' judgement and decision-making with respect to my care have always been right on target. Reserved in his manner and approach, practical and pragmatic, he has always taken whatever time is necessary and requested whatever tests he has thought necessary to assess my situation.

I'd probably have given him another half a star if two and a half stars were an option, because he does seem to know his stuff. But he is skeptical and is a little detached seeming uninterested. Though he probably really isn't.
