Dr. Humayun Ajmal Mian, MD

Dr. Mian was the Internal medical physician assigned to me when I was admitted to the hospital with extreme pain in my leg. I have had an infection (MRSA and bacterial) for almost a year and am being treated by a Wound Care specialist as well as a plastic surgeon to get the wound under control. For the past couple of weeks my tissue surrounding the wound has become neorotic, turning black and extremely painful. My circumstances are very complex and when I began having severe pain, I went to the ER at the local hospital in which they admitted me; and unfortunately Dr. Mian was assigned. I was hoping to have a debridement on the site to help the tissue regrow, but the surgeon that was assigned is also of the same mindset as Dr. Mian and I refused to see him. My infection disease physician assured me that this was okay and he would assign me to another surgical team To echo another review on this site, Dr. Mian is one the WORST physicians I have ever seen, he was extremely arrogant… and had no compassion whatsoever. He came storming in my room and said I have discharged you because the surgical team who was assigned to me does not work on amputees. WHAT? I have NEVER heard another physician say that. All because I did not want the physician he wanted to assign me to, but chose a more competent surgeon? This did not make sense. As I sat there dumbfounded listening to his speal that because I refused the initial surgeon, he was discharging me. Bear in mind, my pain was so severe it forced me to tears and brought me down significantly and I could not walk due to the severe pain. I said to him, "this does not make sense, does the patient not have the right to refuse a physician and select another? It appears that your hippocritical oath has gone South and you do not care about your patients." He immediately began screaming at me "you did not want Dr. Chavda and the other surgical team does not work on amputees!" Plus a few other choice words were delivered. I told him, "well, since you do not care about your patients and obviously although I am in extreme pain and come to the hospital with the expectation that I would get help with my wound, I can clearly see that would not care even if I had a bullet in my brain resulting from this extreme pain. So, please leave". I have doctors who may not have the best bedside manner, but at least they were professional and did their best to help my situation. He is extremely rude, uncaring and clearly has his own agenda - shame on Brandon Regional Hospital for having someone like him on their staff.

Dr. Mian was the Internal Medicine Dr. assigned to my dad when my dad was unexpectedly hospitalized. Dr. Mian was arrogant, rude, condescending, didn't want to listen, had zero bedside manner, would not answer the nurses pages, and clearly did not like answering our questions. His lack of compassion for the patient and the patient's family, along with his blatant disregard for communication and respect raises a question in my mind of his competency. Not impressed at all with Dr. Mian. I wonder why he chose to go in to a profession in which the care and compassion for other humans is so important.

Met this doctor when I was hospitalized. Came into my room twice to talk to me, never came back but wrote on discharge papers that he would follow up with test results etc. I was discahrged one month ago and STILL have not heard from him. Pathetic
