Dr. Bastawros is always good!!

I was pleased with our interactions and the attention they gave to my concerns.

Reluctantly made and went to an appointment with Dr. Bastarows. First off, the person scheduling my appointment was very rude. Then upon arrival things were DEFINITELY not social distanced in the midst of the pandemic. Then in the five-ten minutes she actually bothered to spend with me I explained I had been having trouble keeping food down and felt mentally unwell. The medicine she put me on made me feel increasingly suicidal and even resulted in an attempt. This “doctor” does not know what she’s doing. Specifically if your problems are even remotely mental health related AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

There should be an option to give negative stars. Dr. Bastawros was rude, judgemental, and made me feel awful. I recently moved to the Dayton, OH area and needed to find a new primary care doctor that could help me with my ongoing care of chronic conditions, refill my prescriptions, and refer me to specialists. At my previous home I had a PCM that helped me and worked with my specialists. All of them were a team that agreed on my treatments and medications. That took 7 years. On my first appointment with Dr. Bastawros she came in the room, didn't look at me or greet me, sat in her chair, glanced at my medical records, looked over her glasses and said, "You take too many medications." Let me just say that I do not take any narcotics or pain pills and I have medications that are unsafe to just stop taking. She made me feel like I was a pill seeking crackhead. She did not give me the prescriptions I needed nor did she refer me to the specialists I need that would be better equipped to… handle my care. I left feeling awful and judged and not helped at all. The 2 following appointments I had and showed up for the receptionists had no record of me having appointments. Twice! Fortunately I was able to see their overflow doctor that gave me some of my refills and supposedly sent referrals. Those referrals never made it to my insurance so I still do not have what I need. Let me just thank Kettering Physicians Network for that, they , apparently don't know how to submit a referral. My husband has also had the same problem with his referral and he is seen at a different Kettering Health office. Dr. Bastawros is the absolute worst doctor I've ever seen and Kettering Health is the worst network we've ever had. I hate even calling her a doctor. Doctors help people.

She helped me and my family tremendously! Interpreted in Arabic for my family and others. She really cares about her patients and explains everything thoroughly. Overall she is a great doctor and any negative comments are untrue.

She just took over from my fella who retired. She's experienced; from somewhere else, but easily understandable. Orthodox Christian (I'm guessing from her religious bling) AND! All about treating EACH person... had some comments on current treatments I'm on that made sooooo much sense... from a whole-person point of view, as opposed to treating this issue and that issue. Yep! I like her! And my son is going tomorrow... and my ex-husband sees her and likes her as well. She's my kind of people.

I agree with the other posters here. This doctor is absolutely vile. She is VERY mean. I think the only reason she is rated 3/5 on here is because it is easy to schedule an appointment at Healthpoint. It's almost as if she hates her patients. If you go to her with a raspy, sore throat that's been lingering for 2 weeks, she will roll her eyes at you before she even examines you. If you tell her you're feeling sad and you would like a referral for for a psychologist, she will give you a dirty look and say "well how am I supposed to know if you have depression!?" Never in my life have I met a more disgusting human being. She most likely became a doctor for the money, not to help people. DO NOT GO TO HER.
