Dr. Ira Scott Handler, MD

Absolutely descipable man who cares nothing about the rights of needs of his "patients". A corrupt man who belongs behind bars.

My 87 year old mother suffers from Lewy Body Dementia. We were told that Butler Memorial Hospital had a bed for her. Prior to transfer Ira made a ruling to not take my Mom because her condition is to acute. WHAT?? This is a condition requiring immediate treatment. She was discharged from her assisted living facility and the Hospital in my home town. Tonight there is no where to take her for treatment! I called the intake unit and was told the situation is my fault. Dr Handler is a despicable person with no empathy or care for patients.

Had the one appt and I did not bother making a second. He did answer my questions factually, but the phone bit was really rude and disrespectful of me and my needs.

My brother is being treated by Dr. Handler, and he has been so helpful with his care and treatment. Dr. Handler is the best doctor he has ever had to treat him. Whenever I have a question about his care, Dr. Handler has always returned my call and discussed any concerns that I may have had with me. I can’t say enough good things about him. Thank you!!!

Dr Handler is simcerely one of the rudest doctors I have ever met. He simply cannot take No for an answer and will deliberately force unnecessary treatment onto you. He cares nothing about you or your family, and others I have found why is he still in practice. His colleagues in his practice seem to behave in the same manner. This man is after money, and cares only if there could be something litigious gone against him, or if is credibility could be harmed. As long as him and his group can control those variables, him and the PBS Group pretty much exploit anyone they can make money off. Stay away from this doctor, if he lets you...he will force his treatment onto you. He can’t take No for answer

I went on line to review this new Doctor for my mother in law, was taken back by the low scoring of Him, When we arrived we found a wonderful doctor, great staff, and the man that was described in his reviews was non existent. The doctor was very kind and gentle with my Mother in Law, and very informative with me. He made the diagnosis very easy to understand, and gave us great hope for her future. Thank you Dr Handler for showing such compassion with my Mother in law and myself.

Dr. Handler failed to call my family during a near death experience (coma) induced by other doctor's overprescribing of psychiatric drugs. At the time, he phoned a prior psychiatric doctor provider, instead of looking at my written medication list in my purse. He seems to have no common sense, or he would have looked in the purse for medication bottles and/or a med list and emergency contact information carried in case of emergencies. He seemed fearful and somewhat antagonistic at times. I agree with other people's opinions that he is rude.

Too busy to talk. Treating with drug that is causing multiple side effects. Instructed nursing staff that it could take up to two weeks to adjust to medicine. Could be permanently damaged by then.

Rude, accusational, and lacks basic human decency and empathy.

This doctor is just rude. Doesn't care about you or your family. I wouldn't trust him at all. If you have to use him good luck. Better off going to Walmart and talking to the door greeter, at least they are nice
