Dr. Irene Kakossian is amazing. She is genuinely concerned with her patients overall well being. Dr. Kakossianhas been my doctor for almost 13 years. She is most caring and most competent. She gives you so much time and listens, and just an overall wonderful person. I love the office and the staff are great.

Utterly unprofessional and unethical staff. Zocdoc blocked my account because this doctor claimed I didn’t show up even though I have a charge in my account that shows I went and this review to prove it: STAY WAY. I DO NOT recommend this place and I suggest you double check with your insurance if they're actually in network or not before you go for your appointment. I booked through Zocdoc but then K&K OBGYN CALLED & RESCHEDULED me to a different location/professional who turned out to be OUT OF NOT NETWORK according to my insurance when I called to verify after reviews of patients labeling this practice as a scam or claiming out of network charges being billed. On top of that, the front desk and the nurse assistant were too busy talking manicures and bday plans to notify me of the $5 fee added to the copay for paying with a debit card and when I told one of them I wish I would have been notified of the fee, they both finally looked at me only to say “I did, while the already sassy… nurse said “she did”. But in reality they were so caught up in their personal conversation I know for sure I was not given this Information in due time. So yes, they both were super condescending FROM THE START. Bianca, the nurse assistant/receptionist?" drew my blood at a weird angle causing me pain and didn’t put gauze properly afterwards so I was bleeding out. I’ve never seen anyone draw blood that way and when I called her out on the pain she replied "no one has ever complained in the past" while she aggressively put a band-aid on me. I was so taken back by her rude attitude that I told her I would post this online and she said "fine". So here it is in honor to her lack of professionalism and utter carelessness. In regards to the actual professional who took me in for the exam, I have no complains...too bad I had to deal with such unpleasant, unprofessional and careless waitstaff before speaking to my actual doctor, who by the way had to take care of cleaning up the blood mess the assistant made. And since they turned out to be out of network I called to ask for my exams to be sent to an in network lab to what I was told “we don’t usually work with that lab but fine” and by this pint I’m so fed up with them I tell them to disregard my exams and to not sent my blood anywhere acknowledging my defeat plus the inconvenience of having to find another doctor. But a few minutes ago I got an email from Zocdoc telling me my account has been blocked because these people claimed I didn’t show up for the appointment. Omg! How else are they going to retaliate? Lawsuit anyone?

SCAM. I booked my annual Pap Smear test through ZooDoc. Without even calling me the office rescheduled the appointment for another day. I rescheduled again on ZooDoc and they finally called me to tell them that that day they could only reschedule an appointment at their other location (111 Broadway, New York, NY) where they had a doc who accepted my insurance (MetroPlus). I went there and after I filled out all the papers, an extremely rude receptionist told me that I had to pay for the visit (before even seeing the doc) because I had a deductible. I explained that my insurance (like most health insurances) has a free annual Pap Smear test that doesn't incur in deductibles or co-pays. It's 100% free. She said that wasn't true. I told her to call the insurance and she refused. When another patient, who overheard the conversation, said I was right, the receptionist literally told me : "The office makes its own rules". When I called ZooDoc to report them, they told me that they… had put me as a no show for that visit and also the other two that were rescheduled (not even for my choice). There are several other reviews that mention issues with their practice because of crazy bills and overcharges.

I have been a patient of  Dr. Irena Kakossian for many years and I can attest to the fact that she is a brilliant and gifted Doctor. Years ago, I had a mysterious bleeding issue which 3 doctors had failed to correctly diagnose despite sending me on multiple unnecessary testings including several sonograms. It took one visit to Dr. Kakossian to properly address the issue which required surgery. This was successfully performed in her office. Consequently, even though I now live in Florida, I still come back to New York for consultations. I give her 5 stars!

Dr Kakossian is the only doctor I trust completely. I wish all the doctors were like her. I consider myself lucky to have found true professional, very knowledgeable expert and have her genuine support as I have known Dr Kakossian for over 16 years. She welcomed my daughters into this world absolutely exceptionally. I come from NJ just to see the doctor. It’s hard to find high caliber OB-GYN and Dr Kakossian is true one and I’d recommend her in heartbeat as if you are looking for great quality, compassion, understanding, kind heart and gentle hands- you should look no more - you found the one you need!

Dr. Kakossian and her staff are wonderful. They are compassionate and caring to everyone that comes into the office. They are very accommodating to patients who do not speak English. Every patient receives personal attention, and I have never felt rushed. They treat everyone like family.

She is a wonderful Doctor. Her staff is very friendly and willing to help. She helped me many years ago when I thought I would never have a baby. I now have a handsome teenager. She is a special woman. I moved from Brooklyn, and still come back to go and see her. That's how great she is.

Dr. Kakossian is incredible. While I did have to wait a little while, that's a given at any doctor's office. She was very nice, caring, and attentive. I felt as though I was her only patient of the day. I would (and already have) recommend Dr. K to anyone.
