Dr. Irving Henry Kaufman, MD

Dr. Kaufman has been my doctor for many years. He has been excellent in diagnosing any illness that I have had. When you talk with him, you can see that he really cares.

Be prepared to wait at least 2 hours to see the doctor or a PA. Be prepared to sit in a very small, untidy waiting area. Be prepared to have other people breathing on you. Be prepared to ask yourself why you put up with going here! Don't get me wrong...Dr. Kaufman is EXCELLENT!!! But the office staff and the wqait times are horrible!

His knowledge and bedside manner putt at the top

Dr. Kaufman has the best treatment of patients which I have seen. As long as he is practicing, he will be my doctor

My family has used this practice for over 18 years. He is an excellent physician, careful, thorough and caring. Office management leaves a lot to be desired, but it has improved dramatically over the years. Incorporation of PAs into the practice has been a boon for routine care. He has had difficulty keeping another physician in the practice for any period of time (see difficulties with office management)

The doctor is pretty good. but his staff are horrendous. Never have i seen such a discourtesy group. Not only that they're also extremely racist towards anyone not like them. I do not understand how a business can function like this. One of their office managers, I think it might be the Dr's wife is absolutely the meanest lady. Instead of trying to understand a concern she hells back. I'd only suggest this doctor if no one else is around. He's a nice guy, but more than likely you will not see him, you'll see one of his inept Physician Assistants.

While I found that the first exam I had upon meeting the Doctor, a medical practice is more than just one person no matter how good the Doctor might be. So it is at Dr. Kaufman's office. The person who most hurts this practice is Anne who I believe is the doctor's wife. She is nasty, uncaring, unconcerned. gruff with patients and neglects the calls from patients needing refills and druggists who call in for refills. And that is only a part of it. When you tell her that a medication you were taking for many years and changed by the doctor to a lower dosage, and that dosage is not working, telling her you need to go back to the previous dosage, ordered by another trusted doctor in another state, she will not comply. Even when I was sitting across from her at the office and told her that the dosage they prescribed was not working, she will tell you the she will change it and then does not do so. When the druggist calls to tell her she made a mistake, she will tell him he will have… his call answered, she fails to follow through. I needed several refills that my druggist called in, spoke to her or her assistant, and NEVER got a call returned of the three attempts to just get her OK. I waited for 5 days and never got the medicine refilled. Ann claimed it was because the drug was not allowed to be refilled over the phone even though the medication IS allowed to be refilled over the phone when a pharmacist calls it in. I finally had to go to the hospital ER to get a refill . and have to pay 20% of the fee charged by the hospital as I am on Medicaid. (Got to change carriers!) I believe that this practice is making you come in for another prescription just so they can bill you and your insurance carrier. Have you heard about Double-dipping? By the way, when I went to the ER at RWJ the Physicians Asst. asked who the doctor was that failed to call back and I told her it was Anne, she told me she was training at the Kaufman office when Anne came out from behind glass that separated her from the patients, she poked a complaining patient in the nose with her finger and yelled at her for saying that this office will never see her again but her friends would find out about this incident. Lastly, this office keeps too few hours. Imaging having to wait for 2 hours while they close the office for lunch for all of the staff. You CA'NT even leave a message.

After being a patient at this practice for many many years, my family has decided to find another physician due to the fact of the most unprofessional office mgr, Riva Kaufman.. The Dr.s here rvery good, but the office mgr, Riva,is the most rude, condensending, uncompassionate, person I have ever spoken to, she will speakover u andthink nothing about hanging up right in your ear, To her it is strictly all about the money....forcing patients to see the Dr unecessarily when often a simple question could b answered over the phone, again all about the money!, Which begs to question the legitamacy of their billing practices. This woman needs a course in customer relations, I feel sorry for Dr Kaufman to have to go home to her every night! Not to mention the office is in need of a complete renovation and cleaning. In my opinion if your considering going here u may want to give it a second thought!

I will never recommend this Dr to anybody. All about money .

Dr. Kaufman is a wonderful, caring doctor. It's the office staff that's horrible. Rather, the office manager, Dr. Kaufman's wife, Riva! THAT WOMAN IS THE WORST TO DEAL WITH! The office staff as a whole does the best that they can under their circumstances. They have to deal with the office manager on a daily basis. Anyone would snap after dealing with that awful woman. I never fill out these types of online surveys but I just had the most unpleasant experience of talking to that woman. Not sure is she thinks because she's Dr. Kaufman's wife that she can speak to his patients in such a disrespectful manner! THIS WOMAN IS TRULY UNPROFESSIONAL. SHE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET ANOTHER JOB IF SHE DIDN'T WORK FOR HER HUSBAND!
