Dr. Isabela Jarecka Romao, MD

My husband and I both needed a new endocrinologist. We were recommended Dr. Romao by a physician I work with, I am a registered nurse in a hospital for over 25 years and I am usually pretty critical of physicians. Dr. Romao is wonderful. She is thorough, patient, has a great bedside manner and I just love her. I am so happy to have found her. I highly recommend!! Staff in office is very friendly, wait time could be better.

After having a bad experience with another doctor, I took my 18 year old daughter to see Dr. Romao. She spent a lot of time reviewing my daughters case and explaining things to my daughter. Great bedside manner. Not one to push medication when not needed.

She promised to call me within 2 days after my appointment with her to discuss my blood test results, my diagnosis and a treatment plan. One week later I still haven't heard from her although I left several messages on her voice mail and with the receptionist reminding her to call me.

Dr Romao is one of the most caring and meticulous doctors my husband and I have ever had! She never sorts us on her time spent with us, researches what she has questions about to provide the correct plan of action in every situation and never gives up when the solution is not immediately evident. Additionally, what truly amazes us is that if we have our blood work done at the lab in her office, she calls us THE NEXT DAY with the results! We highly recommend Dr Romao to anyone who needs a great endocrinologist.

This doctor may seem friendly but has no idea what she's doing. She NEVER returns calls, even after leaving numerous emergency messages. She's unsure of her diagnosis and asked me, not a doctor but the patient, for my opinion....? Very unreliable!

She immediately prescribes removal of thyroid without considering any other less invasive options. Unfortunately, my nephew listened to her and is suffering the consequences of his RAI treatment.

After her assistant asked me in detail questions, Dr. Rameo came in and talked about all my options she spent more time with me than any other doctor I tried. and I now feel great.

My visit/extended stay with Dr. Romao was extremely disappointing. She had her resident come by the room intermittently while I waited for FIFTY minutes, where he would awkwardly ask unnecessary questions. Finally she walked in and did not ask one single question herself. She ruled out PCOS (which is highly prevalent in my family) after asking not even one question and inaccurately assuming whether I have any symptoms of the syndrome or not. Her bedside manner was terrible and she made me feel both helpless and hopeless.

One never feels like an assembly line patient during a visit to Dr. Romao's office. She takes the time to give each patient individualized care that is not rushed. Then she follows up with a phone call when needed.
