Dr. Ismael Gonzalez, MD

Dr. Ismael Gonzalez completed his medical school education in Colombia in 2002. Following that, he served as a family practice doctor for a couple of years before relocating to Texas to pursue his residency in pediatrics at Driscoll Children's Hospital from 2006 to 2009. He furthered his specialization by undertaking a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at Rush University in Chicago from 2009 to 2012, where he also earned a master's degree in medical research. Dr. Gonzalez then made his way to Michigan, where he joined Beaumont Children's Hospital and assumed the role of director of the fetal cardiology and student heart check program. With a passion for teaching, he was recognized as the best teacher in the pediatric residency program at Beaumont and continues to instruct medical students at Oakland University William Beaumont. During his tenure with the university, he attained the position of associate professor in pediatrics at OUWB.Recognized as a top doctor in the metro Detroit …area for several years, Dr. Gonzalez was also honored as America's Top Doctor in 2023.
