Dr. Jack Paiyang Chen, MD

We waited an hour and a half to see Dr Chen (morning appt). Only when we started to leave did he magically become available to see us. He talked to us for 90 seconds and left. We will be doing our follow ups elsewhere. Absolutely no regard for patients or process.

It’s been quite a while since I saw Dr. Chen. Having had an appointment with him, I promptly changed doctors. Dr. Chen is a poster child for bad bedside manner. He came over as having an aloof attitude, even arrogant. I felt like cattle. I understood no more about my heart murmur after I left than when I arrived. Having dealt with horrible Atlanta traffic to break my neck to be on time, I was underwhelmed. I don’t know where these people go to medical school but doctors like this need a wake up call.

Best doctor ever and team ever. He saved my life.

Dr. Chen is the best in every way. I am so grateful to have been referred to him at Nothside Hospital.

Dr. Chen treated my mother with a massive heart attack after a chemo treatment and has been treating her now for over 1 year. He inserted 5 stints in her heart and has visited in the hospital during the long process of breast cancer and has an excellent bedside manner.

I have lots of confidence and regards for Dr. Chen. I have not met another Dr. from this practice who explains problem on the hand, discuss options, provide guidance and partnership in resolving health issue on hand. He has spent required time and answered questions. I always thought he had good bedside manner. Does not just chitchat and waste time, he has other patients just like me.

Had to have a procedure done at the hospital and he did not explain what was going to happen prior to the procedure, which certainly would have put me more at ease. During the procedure, he was not forthcoming unless I asked questions. Being new to having heart issues is a scary experience and he did not instill confidence in me that everything possible was being done to correct/treat my problem.

I had a really horrible experience with this man. He was condescending beyond belief. Even though it was disconcerting, I could overlook his not making any eye contact with me whatsoever. What I couldn't overlook, was his attitude of arrogance and his expressions of being annoyed when I would asked any question about my condition or treatment. His attitude went beyond dissmissive and uncaring - it was antagonistic. I was so caught off guard by this behavior because I am not the kind of patient that doctors find offensive and as the father of a child with ongoing medical needs, I am dealing with doctors all the time and his behavior was not like any I had experienced. This happened a few months ago and I can't get it out of my mind.

This man should not be a doctor. He's unprofessional, uncaring, and unwilling to take responsibility for his own actions including his diagnoses and treatment decisions. I went to him several times with the same complaint. He dismissed my feelings and it turned out that there was another underlying problem that he would have caught if he had only listened to me. He is a doctor that does not care about patients.
