Dr. Jacob Oren Levitt, MD

No longer at Mt. Sinai. Where is he now?

As a matter of fact, Dr. Levitt is the most efficient, focused and overall effective dermatologist in New York City. Possibly the USA. And I've been to many in numerous cities. Besides being a stand up guy, so to speak, what makes Dr. Levitt so good is the fact that he sees every patient as an individual -- and in a global way. He doesn't just look at the outside. He looks at all the elements that may be causing the external issues. And most of all, unlike most doctors in New York these days -- he really cares about each patient. He goes way past where most doctors will go. Besides being a great Dermatologist, he's a better internist than most internists I've been to.

Besides being a fine person, with a big heart, Dr. Levitt truly cares about his patients and treats them both externally and internally, getting at the causes of conditions as well as other internal issues that may be affecting the patient. And is typically successful at finding the cause and treating it. He saved my life by figuring out certain issues, and how to treat them, what specialists to see, etc. Most doctors these days are very thin on caring, Dr. Levitt excels in this area, and there is nothing he doesn't know about, concerning external conditions, the causes, and successful treatment. I won't name names, however Dr. Levitt, as all great doctors are, is surrounded by doctors in his field who are severely lacking in compassion and who are blatantly incompetent and lazy. Dr. Levitt is the finest dermatologist in the Mt. Sinai system -- and, most likely, in America.

Dr. Levitt is the best dermatologist that I have ever seen.

I do not think he is a good physician. I do not trust his judgement.

I saw Dr. Levitt for some hypopigmentation on my face which he diagnosed as vitiligo and referred me for treatment with excimer laser. I also had a red blob on the bridge of my nose for the past year. Dr. Levitt said it was not basal cell and treated the spot with V-beam during the same appointment. Now I just have to wait and see if it improves/resolves. Dr. Levitt is very intelligent, good at taking a patient seriously, listening and coming up with the correct diagnosis. He is not easily influenced by others and has the ability to synthsize information. He will educate you about your condition which is necessary to make a sound decision. I don't expect drs to be friendly or nice, just practice medicine, but Dr. Levitt is extra nice and witty. Highly recommend.

Dr. Levitt is a wonderful dermatologist. I have hydridonitis supperativa and he has me on a great treatment regimen. He is truly a fabulous doctor

Dr. Levitt is an Excellent doctor. He is very aware of the most up to date treatments. He is very kind and spends the necessary time with you. He is by far, the best dermatologist I have ever had.
