Dr. Jacob E. Markovitz, MD

Dr. Markovitz has the best bedside manner, he is the most compassionate, and nicest dr ever. He is cool and level headed, which truly helped during a time when I was nervous and anxious during my pregnancy. He is patient and kind, and answers all your questions.

Dr. Markovitz is an excellent and professional doctor. He is attentive to your questions and needs, takes the time to explain everything and is always professional. I had some concerns and he was always reassuring. Without being dismissive. Everyone in the practice is also great and I never have to wait long.

On the recommendation of 2 different friends, I chose Dr Markovitz as my OB once I became pregnant. Every mother wants to know they're in great hands during their pregnancy and delivery, and I truly felt that from our first meeting with him. I also appreciated that he's part of a wonderful practice, which meant my numerous prenatal appointments never had to be rescheduled due to other deliveries. The other doctors are great as well, in particular Sharon Jacobson. I would say the 2 of them are among the best doctors I've had the pleasure of seeing. The front office staff is always very lovely as well, and I've never had to wait more than 10 min. I was lucky enough to go into labor when Dr Markovitz was on call, and what I expected to be the most scary and painful moments of my life were surprisingly the opposite. I'm sure a lot of that had to do with the epidural as well, but both my husband and I were so impressed by his calming presence throughout the entire process. We're so… luck to have had him deliver our first child, and would recommend him wholeheartedly.

The one star DOES NOT reflect the care provided by Dr. Markovitz. I was quite happy with his care and have no issues with him at all. My one star rating is for my experience with his office staff at my last appointment. As a result, I regretfully will not be coming back to see Dr. Markovitz. I came 10 minutes late to my appointment and I was told I would have to reschedule because I came late. Without going into all the details, I was thoroughly disappointed in how I was treated. When I called the next day to speak to the office manager, Grace, she "apologized" but make it quiet clear that there would be no attempt to remediate this problem going forward. Therefore, I will not be returning as a patient nor will I recommend this practice to those looking for an OBGYN.

Dr. Markowitz is an exceptional physician. He took care of me during my 3rd pregnancy and I couldn't be happier with my care. He always took his time answering any and all of my questions and made himself available if I had any issues. I was extremely lucky that he was on call when I went into labor as the delivery was a very beautiful and emotional experience. I couldn't have asked for a smoother process. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for bright, caring and wonderful physician!

I came to Dr Markovitz after delivering my first two children in New York City. I was so happy with his bedside manner, encouragement, patience and relaxing personality at my delivery, that I wish I had found him sooner. He is by far the best doctor that I have ever seen.

I saw Dr. Markovitz a couple of years ago. It seemed like he didn't "care" too much about my concerns. During the exam, it was very uncomfortable as well. Dr. Markovitz and the other doctors all seemed a bit conceited. The office staff was not courteous either. It was a relief to switch to a different practice before delivering my child.

I love Dr. Markovitz. He is amazing! He is very kind, gentle, accurate, intelligent and accommodating. Even though I currently reside further away from Dr. Markovitz's office, I do not want to change Dr. Markovitz. I highly recommend him to all my friends and other viewers. However, the Office Staff could be kinder even though they are working in a busy office. Especially, Billing Coordinator, Colleen, in my opinion, she is rude and unprofessional. She lacks empathy and customer service to work at doctor's office.

At 9 months pregnant, I visited Dr. Markowitz and ended up waiting for 45 mins. When he finally saw me, he never even bothered to apologize for the wait. He hardly said a word to me during the 10 second exam and when I asked what were perfectly legitimate questions, he dismissed them as "irrelevant." I felt rushed and disregarded; it was a horrible experience, which only added to my stress level just 5 days before I am scheduled to deliver my first child. A doctor is supposed to be compassionate, not make you feel worthless. I was so devastated after my time with Dr. Markowitz, I left the office in tears. I would not recommend him to anyone and I certainly won't be seeing him again.
