Dr. Jacqueline C Brown, MD

Dr. Brown is professional and knowledgeable. Her advice has always been spot on. Yes, the practice is overwhelmed, inefficient, overbooked and not overly friendly. But if you want your insurance to cover your lady bits, you usually have to use the practices in the hospital. I'm grateful that she's still trying to do a good job under our current (broken) system.

I totally agree all other posts. Recently I called this office and this young-voiced staff was deadly cold, ignorant and rude. Wow. Has she been ever educated for this? I've had an abnormal result TWO MONTHS AFTER the pap test.(2005) What I liked about this Dr. is the location and "female Dr." but that's it, I will never go back.

Spends little time getting to know patient and history. Rushes through exam. Concerns and issues not addressed or taken serious. No follow up or retured calls about test results. Dr. did not even try to understand my particular circumstances and symptoms. Waiting to leave messages on average 45 minute wait only to be treated rudely. Very upseting situation regarding my care.

I don't mind the wait in her office as I've had longer waits. What I do mind is that a full 8 weeks after my annual pap, I received a call that I had a mild infection and needed medication. Are you kidding me? Eight weeks after the fact you call me to tell me this? Unbelievable. I thought I had finally found a decent OB/GYN.

Goldie, Dr. Brown's nurse, is incredibly curt with patients and unprofessional.

Dr. Brown performed a pap smear that caused a much heavier bleeding than spotting which is normal to the procedure. When I was discussing my questions and concerns with her, she was unreceptive, incommunicative and out of focus. She had her cellphone on an alarmingly loud ringtone and she received about five calls during the examination and while conversing with her. Following-up took several phone calls and over a week. She recommended a procedure that, when I went to see a more experienced, more knowledgeable doctor(to say the least) was not only unnecessary but would have been injurious to my fertility.

i found her office to be about average on the wait times and the helpfulness of the staff (which is to say, not terribly compassionate or helpful). i've never seen a doctor in nyc where i had to wait less than an hour, so the average 60-90 minute wait time seemed pretty average too. dr. brown was pretty clinical - in and out - but did take the time when i voiced concerns regarding my pregnancy to make sure i understood what was going on with my body.

Dr. Brown gets the job done. That's about all I can say. I believe her practice books too many patience not allowing the doctors to spend enough time with them, therefore leading to lousy service. I have been going to them on and off over the past 3 years for various reasons, and was treated with less warmth than I've felt from a Burger King cashier. There is definitely no "Your Way Right Away" from these people, and for me, that's NO WAY to treat my vagina! Dr. Brown did her job proficiently and efficiently, but was lacking in tenderness at some of the more emotional moments of my life. Regardless of the doctorlyness of the doc, the staff is the real problem, as they are who patients end up spending the most time with. Waiting room time almost always excedes an hour. The receptionists are rude and insensitive, and it's difficult to get calls returned even in urgent matters. After calling repeatedly one day after waking up in agony with a UTI, I limped my way to the office, only for… the receptionist to demand that I take a seat for another 2 hours while I sweated in pain until she waited to find out if the doctor could EVEN SEE ME THAT DAY! If it hadn't been for AZO, I think I would have passed out, and no one would have noticed! I will not be returning to this gynocological office. With feminine emotion running rampant, the last thing one needs is people shoveling you around like cattle.
