Specialties

Dr. Jaiyoung Ryu has the following 2 specialties

  • Surgery of the Hand

Hand surgeons are certified surgeons who are also experts in the function and structure of your wrists, hands and forearms. This allows them to treat arthritis, carpal tunnel, trigger finger and tennis elbow, most of which tend to result from repetitive and excessive use of the corresponding joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments.

Dr. Ryu is an excellent doctor/surgeon. Great personality. Very thorough. I had excellent results with my hand surgery. More importantly, he saved my husband's life in 2001 following an accident in which both his lower arms were nearly severed. It was a long and difficult surgery requiring plates, pins, etc to replace/repair bone and reattaching arteries etc. My husband regained full use of both hands/arms and is able to do any activity he chooses. It was nothing short of miraculous. We thank God that Dr. Ryu was the one to get the call the day Bill was flown to WVU Hospital.

Dr. Ryu is very knowledgeable. He attempted numerous interventions before resorting to a surgical approach, which I really appreciated. I feel that he was very thorough. There was a minor problem with my surgery, which he did tell me was a possible side effect. He addressed the situation promptly and courteously. I trust him as a physician! As a matter of fact I drive more than three hours because I trust his expertise.
