He did bad work made my foot worse than before would not reccomend him to my worst enemy

Does not provide quality time-- maybe 5 to 7 minutes of his time. He is only interested in doing SURGERY despite the fact that more conservative interventions seem feasible. Would not prescribe an anti-inflammatory despite the MRI findings. In my opinion, he exhibits poor listening and organizational skills.

I went to see Dr. James Deorio one time and corresponded with him via internet duke. He answered all my concerns concerning a foot operation gone bad by another Dr.Schreyack. I had a boot on when I went to see him as another Dr Parekh. told me I had a broken distal fibular shaft. Here I am faithfully wearing a boot, After taking x-rays and the study of them I was instructed to take the boot off as my distal fibular shaft was not broken.

I have now had 2 foot surgeries with Dr. DeOrio. I had to get my right foot fused. He is such a caring and compensate doctor. I drove 2 1/2 hours to have him operate on me. His P.A. Stephanie is also great. I was concerned about my foot and I called their office and within a day I had an appointment in their office so they could evaluate it. I would highly recommend them!

I cannot praise Dr. JAMES DEORIO enough, it is because of him that I still have my right leg and foot. I was in a severe car accident where my right foot became detached from my leg and my ankle broke in a terrible way. After being told that it was impossible to "fix" by other orthopedic surgeons at other hospitals, that amputation was all I could consider, I found Dr. Deorio and he made the decision to try, something no one else was willing to do. The first surgery into unchartered waters turned into multiple very successful surgeries, he took his time and never gave up on me. This doctor is the master of masters without any doubt. Where my foot used to look deformed, it no longer does and I move with the ease I had prior to my injuries. We wondered if I would be able to walk more than just yards again and I'm proud to say that I walk miles, I hike mountains, do yoga and ride horses again. A situation thad looked so terrifying prior to meeting Dr. Deorio is something that is only… a memory now. I will always be ever so grateful to this brilliant surgeon!

Dr. DeOrio made such a difference in the quality of my life. Not being able to walk or do things for myself was such an ordeal.

I traveled to North Carolina to meet with this doctor. I believe he is intelligent BUT he was rude, condescending and just plain mean. I was in an accident over a year ago. I wanted his expert (?) opinion on what type of surgery I would need to correct my pain since the original surgery after my accident was done incorrectly. I did not necessarily disagree with his answer BUT his delivery and demeanor. He was rude and just plain mean in telling me that I made the decision to get on a snowmobile and take a risk that would alter the course of my life. In other words, too bad I had an accident. I would not be able to do the things I did before so get over it.

Dr DeOrio is truly a Miracle Dr!! I was at the point of not being able to walk at all. With my TAR I can now do pretty much anything I want to do.. I highly recommend Dr DeOrio.

I had my ankle replaced with Dr. DeOrio at Duke and several necessary follow up surgeries to remove bone regrowth. Duke hospital, clinic, Dr. DeOrio and his PA Stephanie make a great team. Having to have additional surgery was frustrating, but anticipated. I do not have a perfect ankle, but I can now walk several miles. I had great success after giving up tennis shoes and only wearing Alegria shoes because of the high arch supper, thick soles as well as the shape of the soles that help with your gate, which is so important and after ankle replacement. Dr. Deorio is a skilled surgeon and busy operating, speaking and training. His PA Stephanie is intelligent, available and responsive. Great team.
