Dr. James Mccarthy, MD

The sweetest guy, but absolutely terrible surgeon. I got a breast reduction and the results were just… awful. He initially offered to fix any issues I had for free, but then saw the extent of the damage and rescinded that offer. Insurance denied my claim because it was labeled as “cosmetic”, and the price of a revision was nearly the same as the original surgery. Now I’m having to get my revision done by another surgeon who can actually fix this mess. Asymmetry, dog ears, abnormally high nipples, the works! I loved his bedside manner but pls beware and be thorough!

I just moved here last weekend and I went to the emergency room for help. They were extremely helpful and the decision to wait for a specialist on Monday was totally exceptional.

I have renamed Dr Mcacarthy Dr Ghost. Had my initial visit 2 1/2 months ago for breast cancer surgery, had my mastectomys and have not seen him since. Have had complications and a hematoma. He could care less. Breast cancer is very scary, needless to say I've transferred to a different doc to complete my reconstruction process. Do NOT recommend him.

Dr mcCarthy is one of the kindest, most caring people I have met. He did my breast reconstruction following mastectomy. After a very long recovery because of complications, the final procedure was completed. The outcome is so disappointing that I am planning to have them removed by another Dr. Communication was also sometimes pretty poor. I've thought long and hard about this review because I love Dr McCarthy, but I hope it saves another woman from experiencing what I went through.

Dr McCarthy is a beacon of light in what is, most likely, a very difficult time for a patient. He's unbelievably intelligent yet humble -- proactive in his treatments and three or four mental steps ahead of everyone at any given time. You want this man on your team. His impressive skill-sets and calm, caring mannerisms left a permanent imprint on me. Thank you Dr McCarthy!

He is absolutely horrible he did my surgery and he only had his nurse see me after, it has been such a terrible process!!! Please do not see this surgeon he will make you feel like you are a priority and then he will never see you again!!

Absolutely loved him prior to my surgery. Was not happy with the results and when I expressed that to his staff, they acted like they didn't care. Had an apt with him to see if it could be fixed and when I showed up, he was running an hour and a half behind and no one thought to call me to let me know. Loved his bedside manner but hate my results and not very happy with the lack of caring now that the surgery is done. Will have to have another surgery somewhere else.

I was told by doctor James McCarthy's office, and his assistant Kathryn Blanch that the appointment was a FREE consultation. The assistant did nothing, it was a consultation. This doctors office submitted this to my insurance company, and only paid $61.00, I was charged for $152.70 for nothing.

Dr McCarthy is not only an amazing physician but also has excellent beside manner. He is very thorough and goes over everything is great detail. I would highly recommend him to friends and family.
