Dr. James Scott Gillin, MD

Don't understand why people are complaining about Dr. Gillin. He is a great doctor has helped me with my colon problems never had a problem with him.

Most concerned about the patient,will explain all findings in language you will understand. Does answer all questions..Has a great bedside manor,never missed a day when attending in hospital patients.Expert in his field & recommends you if necessary to Best of The Best practitioner for further treatment. Has a great sence of humer and makes his parients very comfertable with him. Would definately recommend him to others as a Top Doctor in his field of expertise.

Dr. Scott Gillin is a fantastic, knowledgeable doctor with a wonderful calming bedside manner who really listens to you and gives a thorough exam and follow up. Also has a great staff. Would recommend highly!

A wonderful gastroenterologist who has a awesome bedside manner and great experience; Dr. Gillin is open to trying different medications, dosages in the treatment of Crohns/UC. I highly recommend his terrific professional services.

When you make an appointment to see the doctor you never really see him. You see a nurse who is practicing medicine without the proper license, directly disputing things that the doctor had previously told me. Very flippant attitude, bordering on disrespectful. So you only see the doctor a few minutes before and after any procedure you're having and then after that good luck - you're on your own. It is a money mill, get 'em in and get 'em out as fast as possible. I shudder to think how they behave in the OR when they are working on you. The doctor should know how shabbily his nurses and staff treat people, but then maybe he does and could care less.

He is the worst doctor with no common sense and he can read the symptoms.

Dr. Scott Gillin is an excellent diagnostic gastro doctor. He is very thorough in his colonoscopy's, I had one done by another gastro doctor and he didn't complete the colonoscopy, causing me to have to repeat this test right away, as I was bleeding from the colon. He stays on top of his patients symptoms, his special assistant (Dora) is EXCELLENT AND VERY THOROUGH in explaining all tests that have to be done, and getting the proper papers filled out for insurance ahead of time. Dr. Scott Gillin is a friendly, courteous doctor during visits and gives you time to talk to him when you are in the office, he doesn't talk over you. You get all your questions answered and he's very trustworthy. I highly recommend him for anyone who has a difficult problem that other doctors can't seem to pin point; Dr. Scott Gillin will get to the bottom of the problem for sure and quickly, but safely. He does not over medicate, and makes personal calls to the patient in the evening himself; this is rare in… this day and age; usually doctor's have their nurses or someone on the staff make the calls to the patients home. It is really too far for me to drive anymore, 1 hour at least, but I continue to go the distance because I've tried 2 other gastro doctors that have totally failed my high standards for a good gastro doctor. Only one bad thing is, he works out of Overlook Hospital, and I had a nightmare of an experience in the year 2000 with a 10 day stay in that Hospital, worst time I ever was a patient in a hospital was in this hospital. The care was next to ZERO. Your on your own or your family has to come daily to take care of you. I wouldn't go back there to that hospital if they paid me to go. I could have made a horror movie out of my stay at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ.
