Dr. James Black is trained in both microsurgery and oncologic plastic surgery. He has performed a large number of plastic surgical procedures especially in the area of breast cancer reconstruction with perforator flaps. These procedures are significantly better than older techniques for breast reconstruction and involve using fat from the abdomen, flanks, or the buttocks area. This tissue is transplanted to the chest wall, resulting in a breast reconstruction that sacrifices no muscle or fascia from any other part of the body. A breast created in this way is warm and soft to the touch and feels like normal tissue. , it does not result in deficiencies or weaknesses in other parts of the body. To date he has performed over 300 of these procedures all other types of operations for breast reconstruction. Best doctor you can ever have for plastic surgery he saved my leg, he did a muscle flap and did a good job on it. His staff would do anything to make sure you get Taken care of! I would recommend anyone to this doctor. Wait time for me was never an issue! Very compassionate and he seems to me like he's a perfectionist and he does his best for every patient.

Doctor Black went to medical schools in Grenada and the Philippines, so why does he list a school in Chicago? Misdiagnosed me, had a mastectomy that wasn't needed. He didn't listen to me and result was pain that continues today. Checked him out before I went to see him, but all his malpractice suits weren't listed.

Dr. Black and staff is the best medical experience i have ever had. He performed fabulous work on me and my 2 daughters and was kind and compassionate throughout all our experiences. i can not thank him enough.

on the medical records, he didn't put down what I requested to protect himself, and he was very subjective, not listening to what patient want

Dr. Black is the finest doctor I have ever been too. His work is stunning and he is very professional. I don't know who some of these "reviewers" are but they sound like real nuts. I wish we could hear another side to their story.

I had a very complex case of breast reconstruction after cancer. My first doctor literally butchered me making reconstruction impossible using expanders. That was Dr. West in Orange. Avooid him at all cost.My current doctor: Dr. Black reconstructed a beautiful breat for me using my abdominal area tissue. The procedure was 9 hours long and took a lot of skill to complete.I can not be happier!!!! Thank you Dr. Black!!!!!!

I had a major problem with my breast augment. which another doctor in the area performed and seemed to think there was no problem. After seeing a breast specialist in Long Beach I was referred to Dr. Black. By then the problem was far worst and my implant was wanting to come out of my skin.Dr Black explained the problem, removed the implant, had me wait for it to heal and then did a reconstruction on that breast and corrected the other one as well. It was a large undertaking on his part to correct someone else bad work, and I have had follow up's to make everything is still looking how it should, even 1 1/2 years later. I have and would only recommend him for anyone looking into breast surgery - he cares what the out come is now and years later
