Dr. James Andrew Levey, MD

I had bad experiences with this doctor and I do not recommend him. I had a few appointments with him during my prenatal care (it was through a group called Summit Health with several doctors) and he delivered my second baby in January/2023. In one of the appointments at the end of my pregnancy, he performed a very painful and unnecessary cervix exam without giving me any heads-up or explanation regarding the pros and cons of the exam. Despite the awards on his office wall, he did not provide me with a good healthcare experience. I went into labor on a holiday... and guess who was on duty? him. He was the one who delivered my son and I don't have good memories related to this doctor. I remember him shaking his head doing a NO while I was very uncomfortable getting the epidural while 9 centimeters dilated. He then broke my water without my consent. Also when it was time to push, he said I was doing it wrong and again moved his head from side to side in a disapproving gesture. I didn't… feel cared for or safe. I had to verbalize while pushing, for him to have more patience, my husband also said 'She's doing her best to push, be more patient'. After delivering my baby, he didn't say anything, I had to ask about the placenta’s afterbirth and about the tearing. He has very bad bedside manners. I don’t recommend him!

I've been going to Dr. Levey for approximately nine years and have had a great experience each and every time. Highly recommend. He has an awesome staff!

Dr. Levey delivered my stillborn baby who I lost at 36 weeks. He was quick, and didn't say much when the baby was born. I would have liked it if he were a little warmer. He was ice cold. When I went for my follow up, he asked how I was mentally. I said, horrible. His response was: "Some things aren't meant to be." What a silly thing for a doctor to say. Is that what he would think if his child dies, he was meant to die? How dumb. He was not compassionate at all. And, he didn't even care to try and figure out what went wrong. Also when I went to see him before for a prenatal visit, he spent ten seconds listening to the baby's heartbeat. I even asked him, that's all you need to do? Shouldn't we listen for longer? He said, "no, it's fine". He is lazy, and seriously lacks emotional intelligence. He also has no time for anyone but himself and his wallet.

Dr. Levey is a great doctor! He is very friendly, thorough, professional and has an amazing staff ?? I highly recommend him. I have been his patient since 2011 and I've had nothing but good experiences.

Stay far far away!

I had a nonviable pregnancy due to a blighted ovum. Dr. Levey did the D&C on me. Four days later I get a call that the pathology came back and showed no pregnancy tissue. Well when I went in for another ultrasound, the entire gestational sac was still intact! He claims that it's because the gestational sac was in the top right corner and that the fibroids I had also made it difficult to reach. He said nothing about this on the day of the procedure. He knew that I had the fibroids as they were on the 2 ultrasounds I had and the ultrasounds indicated where the fibroids were and how big they were. If he knew I had fibroids, why would he not use ultrasound guidance or a camera to make sure he was getting it. I asked him this and his response was "Because I thought I could get it and that it would be easy. I couldn't tell the location of the sac based on the ultrasound." Because of his mess up, I had a D&C for nothing and then had to suffer through a natural miscarriage after… that. I cried when I found out I would have to do that and his consolation was saying that "women have been miscarrying naturally since the beginning of time." Thanks a lot. I do not trust him at all and will not be going back.

I was very nervous for my first gyno visit but Dr. Levey set my mind at ease with his professionalism and expertise. Though many doctors today seem to rush patients along, Dr. Levey was willing to answer all of my questions and created a comfortable environment for me. Would reccommend highly!

I saw Dr. Levey for the first time for my annual checkup and to address some other concerns. I normally do not see him as my normal OB/GYN, and I was a bit nervous from reading the other reviews written on this site, but I wanted to write one myself to say how I had nothing but the best experience with Dr. Levey! He was very calm, kind, and easy to talk to. He answered all of my questions with confidence and was entirely non-judgmental. He carried out the examination with professionalism and ease, and I felt comfortable the entire time. I am actually considering switching from my normal OB/GYN to seeing Dr. Levey for all of my future appointments!

He is extremely thorough with excellent bedside manner.

I will not be going back to him. Treated me like i didn’t know anything, did not address any of my problems.
