Dr. James Robert Barton, MD

I've been trying to get in with Dr. Barton for several years. He took care of both my grandmothers and was so caring and treated them both really well. His bedside manner is impeccable. He sits down and goes over everything with you and is very thorough.

Dr Barton has changed from initially meeting him a couple of years ago. He used to not mind asking him questions but now after addressing my medical conditions and options he has a really bad response or bad attitude.

I would never suggest Dr Barton to anyone. My mother went to him for a few years. She trusted him so much that it cost her, her life. I would call his office multiple times a week with questions about medication or symptoms she might be having and he never returned my calls. Once while in the office my mom asked him why he never returned them and he said he would not speak to anyone except his patient. Well that's great but when people have cancer and are sick that cannot always be the case. The thing I will never forgive him for is when my mother was in the hospital the last time I asked once more to talk to him and he refused unless we talked in front of my mother who knew nothing of what was going on! She did not want to be resuscitated and once that paper was signed they basically medicated her until her lungs filled with fluid. It bothers me greatly to think something like this could happen to someone else. Please please be aware. He is ok with his patient but sometimes… in certain situations the family needs some love too!

Great doctor who actually took the time to chat with me after my examination. Very comforting, telling me, "I'm your doctor now. Just call me if you need me." Best of all, I have waited no more than 10 minutes in his waiting room. His staff, which is incredibly courteous, is apparently very well organized because I'm never stuck in a waiting room full of people. Top notch service and knowledge.
