Dr. James Kim, MD

Dr. James Kim is a cardiovascular disease specialist with advanced training in interventional cardiology. He earned his medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and completed his residency at University of Chicago Medical Center. Dr. Kim furthered his expertise through a fellowship at University of California, San Diego, where he developed specialized skills in minimally invasive heart procedures. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and Korean.

Dr. Kim practices at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center and maintains offices throughout San Diego County, including Chula Vista, National City, La Mesa, and El Cajon. He focuses on treating high blood pressure conditions, including emergency situations and pediatric cases. His procedural expertise includes performing electrocardiograms to evaluate heart rhythm and function, as well as specialized contrast echocardiography for detailed heart imaging.
