Dr. Jane Dy Lim, MD

SHE IS VERY CURTIOUS AND EXPLAINS THE TEST OR RESULTS OF YOUR VISIT, AND TAKES THE TIME TO BE CERTAIN YOU UNDERSTAND. I RECCOMEND HER AS A QUALIFIED AND ACCURATE DOCTOR.

They had me scheduled for wrong procedure. Canceled. Did not see doctor after waiting hour plus.

My Father was seen by Dr. Lim 10 + years ago for a suspicious looking mole on his nose. At that time Dr. Lim I was told , was one of the best dermatologist around. After waiting several months to get an appt. with her she tested the mole in her office and found it to be skin cancer. She would test it and go to lab then return and remove more. We were not prepared for this at all !!!. This took several hours of hacking and testing. Hind sight , this procedure I feel should have been done in a hospital setting. In the end, My Dad had to have a skin graft to fill in the tissue that she had taken from his nose. ( My Dad passed away in 2008 from colon cancer).

I simply cannot say enough good things about our experience with Dr. Lim's office and staff. There were a couple of minor "glitches" with my insurance that were handled promptly and efficiently by the Staff. Dr.Lim spent a considerable amount of time explaining the procedure to us. Every question we had was answered and followup care has been great!

A good way to describe this doctor is "Coo-Coo"! I'm not joking! I have seen her for several moles, and have had some removed. The one she did remove, she didn't get the edge of the mole and it is now returning. When I complained that she didn't get the edge good enough, she just told me that sometimes moles grow back. WELL, i understand that, BUT in this case she never got it completely removed to begin with! Everytime I've been there they have shown that my last visit was over 10+ years ago, even though I keep having visits and small procedures done. She will tell me to "watch" certain moles, and then when I go back to her and telling her that I've noticed changes in them she told me "I think you are obsessed with your moles". No, lady- I'm just doing what YOU told me to do! Don't see how she is still in practice. I would have quit going to her a long time ago if it weren't for the loooong waits to get an initial appointment with other dermatologists.

I waited 45 minites to see Dr. Lim recently. Fortunatley, there was a sign at the desk where you check in stating that Dr. Lim was running 40 minutes behind and it offered coffee while you wait which I thought was very thoughtful. the receptionist explained that Dr. Lim was behind because she was in surgery and was performing a skin graft repir on a patient. Since I was seeing Dr. Lim for a skin cancer and surgery consult, I didn't mind the wait and was glad that she more concentrated on her surgery than her time schedule. When Dr. Lim came in to see me she spent plenty of time reviewing my chart, looking at my skin, and discussing my treatment options to remove the skin cancer. I was very pleased at how friendly and compassionate Dr. Lim and her nurses were. I was given information on the surgery, pre-op instructions, and she even explained what would happen during the surgery. The surgery came and it went very well. Afterwards, I was given post-operative instructions and even Dr.… Lim's cell phone number in case I had any problems after office hours! I was very impressed with Dr. Lim and her staff and don't hesitate to recommend her to friends and family. She was worth the wait!!!

She seems very skillful and professional in what she does and is therefore in high demand. Overall, not a very satisfying experience. She is good, but the over-waiting you go through and her demeanor often leave you less than happy.

Based on my expericence, find another dermatologist. I took my 12 year old daughter to Dr Lim. We were referred by her pediatrician so she could look at some suspicious moles. After wating for 45 minutes, she spent less than 5 minutes evaluating the moles and said I was over reacting and they were normal. Fast forward a few months.... Last week her primary care physician removed them and I found out today they are indeed pre cancerous. Now she has to have the skin around the moles cut out. Draw your own conclusions....
