Dr. Jared Warner Stark

My sister and I had to see Dr Stark as children 40 years ago. I hated the way he touched us and hugged us. I felt it was not right but did not know how to express it. I am sick to my stomach that he is still in practice and doing this to other kids. I wish my mom would have protected me.

My two children saw Dr Stark through many illnesses. Showing affection to them established a bond that developed trust with the kids. He saw them through many many illnesses, some of which were severe. He sat in my sons hospital room after a serious injury and was there at the break of dawn to check on him every day. He even attended his funeral when he was 21 years old. With all the impolite Drs these days who are afraid of social interaction, I would choose Dr Stark over and over and over again. He did not over use antibiotics and is extremely intelligent and intuitive in his care. Best ever !

Dr. Stark is unfit to treat children. Do not trust him. Never leave your child unattended with him, not even to use the restroom.

My children went to Dr. Stark for 20 years and never experienced once or witness anything the complainers said - wonder why that is. I have 5 children so my guess is I spent much more time in 20 years than those people did. He never touched my children once & only joked with them in a manner in which they thought was funny and made them comfortable as he examined them. Easy to say whatever you want when you don't have to give your name. I recommended him to several people and the only people who complained were those who didn't want to hear the truth about how they were raising their children. I laugh because all my friends doing the right thing appreciate his straight forward approach, those who didn't want to hear what would work because they didn't have the parenting skills to follow through didn't go back to him. My children are much better people for having known him. Perhaps the problem with the complainers is themselves and his straight forward accurate account of… their parent skills didn't sit well with them. By the way - he rarely gave my children antibiotics - in 20 years - 5 kids I think I would have seen some of the stuff they talk about. I can count the number of times on two hands that he did. He was one of the only drs. around for years who would determine viral or bacterial - none of my friends could believe he did that right in the office and had the machinery. Barb his nurse of so many years - delightful - you won't find a better one! Highly skilled, highly intelligent, remembers everybody - knows her stuff and gives a vaccination faster than any nurse I ever saw! Congratulations to them both on fine careers and I wish them all the best as they retire!

While living in West Bloomfield I became so dissatisfied with my daughter's ped that I took her back to the pediatrician who treated my sister and I growing up. This man takes the time to form a relationship with his patients and to do the job right. He does not talk down to parents and does not mind answering questions and discussing alternatives. I have never known him to misdiagnose in 35 years through three patients. I have a doctorate degree and one child that means the world to me. I certainly do not mind if she hugs Dr. Stark, I have found myself doing so on many occasions. This man cares about the families he serves.

Before you consider entering this office, think about how you are going to react when Dr. Stark tries to hug, kiss, and pat your children on their bottoms. Allowing your children to connect with a doctor is fine. Allowing them to be "handled" in the way Dr. Stark does should not be fine with you. If you don't want to have to protect your child from their pediatrician (and you want quality care), choose another doctor.

I just moved to the area and needed to take my 6 yr old daughter to see a doc. I chose dr. Stark because he was so close to our home. The woman at the desk was not very friendly. Just short and to the point. Dr. Stark came in the room sat on the floor with my son who is almost 2. Played with him a minute and then asked him for a hug. (inappropriate!?) then he examines my daughter and hugs her Part way through the visit. (inappropriate agaIn!?) he sat and talked my leg off about all of his experience like he was some used car salesman. Before leaving he picks up my son and hugs and kisses him and pats his butt and calls him his big guy?!?! COMPLETLY INAPROPRIATE!! I was disgusted! I would NEVER visit that office again or reccommend it to anyone!

Terrible service. Terrible doctor. Terrible experience. We won't be back.

If you are with this practice, find a new one. If you haven't at least looked, you have NO idea the high quality of medical care you can receive. Do yourself and your children a favor and move one - count your blessings that nothing bad has happened to your children under his care. Not only is the office a dump, Dr. Stark is quite possibly experience some senility which effected my child and will effect yours. My baby daughter was lucky that she received corrective care after being seen by Dr. Stark.
