Great bedside manner but an intimidator of the elderly.

If you’re looking for a good surgeon, look elsewhere!! Dr. Jefferson Vaughan has the worst bedside manner I’ve ever been subjected to by any doctor! He totally botched what he referred to as a “Simple Hernia Surgery”. I went to the emergency room in intense pain following his surgery and then was admitted. Dr. Vaughan was rude and condescending, told me I shouldn’t even be there, and that I should be home walking to get my bowel back to working correctly. I had to pick my wife’s jaw up off the floor after he left my room! He released me from the hospital, but I ended up right back there as the pain worsened, I was constantly vomiting, and could not eat anything. I was admitted again and refused to allow Dr. Vaughan to be anywhere near me, much less perform another surgery. A different surgeon went back in and found my bowel twisted and stuck to exposed mesh that Dr. Vaughan did not properly install, also found a suture penetrating my gray and near dead bowel. I now have a six inch scar… in my lower abdomen, as it was required to open me up to fix Dr. Vaughan’s botched hernia surgery.

This was my third surgery in life. 2 previous ones left me so traumatized with bad experiences that I was terrified when I got news that I had to have my gallbladder removed. Dr. Vaughan did an amazing job! I can't recommend him enough!

This was my second opinion visit First surgeon was not a good experience... - wait time was really long, he was running surgery and office visits and day - surgeon took a very detailed call regarding another patient while I was in the room - surgeon said he was doing lapascopic surgery that would be three holes and a 2" incision - surgeon said he could not proceed until he could confirm my OBGYN could be on stand by on case a hysterectomy was necessary along with the planned colon resection - administration required my portion before seeing him AND overcharged me (was later verified with my insurance) Dr Vaughan - wait time less than ten minutes - amazing staff - amazing beside manner; took great lengths to explain pros and cons and the procedure itself - did not see why a hysterectomy would be added or occur while resectioning my colon - Dr Vaughan had emergency surgery after my appointment; I was concerned prior he would be rushing his time with me - absolute… opposite - administration didn't even ask for payment

Dr, Vaughan is a very skilled and professional surgeon. I had no bruising, or swelling at all! You can tell he went in there, did what he was trained to do, and out of there fast! In and out, no one gets hurt! I am very impressed with his work. I was worried too! I would highly recommend him to my best friend and family! He is an awesome surgeon! My take away is: If your looking for a psychotherapist, go to one. If you want a very skilled surgeon, go to Dr. Jefferson Vaughan! He is the best! No kidding!!!!

I had VSG on sept 3rd. I was 397 morning of surgery and 4 days out I am down to 387. The worst part of the surgery for me was the nausea and pain in my back from laying. Dr Vaughan is a caring friendly Dr and I will recomend him for anyone. I can be a crybaby, but he and the hospital staff are fantastic!
