Excellent Experience
Self-verified patient of Jeffrey Newman - Posted on June 23rd, 2021
I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Newman's office from start to finish. It was easy to make a fast appointment. I waited very little time to see the doctor once in the office. The office staff was very pleasant. My surgery was scheduled with ease through Holly, who returned all of calls quickly. Dr. Newman and his nurse practitioner (Noel), were always present during my 6 day hospital stay. I was extremely happy with my decision to use Dr. Newman and his staff for my Thymus mass removal. A great experience from beginning to end!
The best doctor in SF!

Valve repair
Self-verified patient of Jeffrey Newman - Posted on October 1st, 2015
I had a great result of a valve repair. I lived with problems from this valve for 35 years....had several cardiologists over those years and finally gave up. I told my family doctor that I was done with them all. My friend insisted I go to a lecture that Dr. Newman was giving about the valve repair group at the Delray Medical Center. I set up an appointment with Dr. Newman had tests done and for the first time ever, he told me he could fix it...just like that....and he did, just like that . I'm still in shock and awe and couldn't be happier. Thank you Dr Newman
Good training, pleasant person, poor skills.

Spent no time describing effects, side-effects, possible problems, with me prior to surgery. Just had pleasant chat about what he would do. Spent no time with me discussing problems during post-op visit. On the way out of the room he looked back and said, "By the way you can consult an oncologist if you want to." My surgery did not go well. I had several permanent effects as a result of the surgery (surgeon?). My pulmonologist said she has never seen a post op patient with a staple through a bronchus. This resulted in lifelong need for bronchodilators. She also said she has never seen broken ribs in the way mine were broken in a post op patient. The rib injuries resulted in my being in constant pain and in need of a rhyzotomy (nerve deadening) procedure that only partially helped. My nerve block doctor also said she has never seen rib injuries like this in a post-op patient.
Not a single complaint

After a routine (?) heart cath I was told that I needed a valve replacement and a single bypass. It was scheduled the next day and I was not given much choice as to who the surgeon would be. I met Dr. Newman shortly after the diagnosis and had an immediate positive first impression. The surgery went very well and I had good follow up with Dr, Newman. I am extremely glad that he did the surgery and all results and follow up were extremely satisfactory.
