Dr. Jeffrey B Satinover has the following 2 specialties
A psychiatrist is a doctor with specific training in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness.
He or she can not only provide the counseling necessary to both diagnose and treat a patient, but can also prescribe medication when needed. In some cases, a psychiatrist will only provide the medication and the counseling will be provided by another healthcare specialist, like a certified counselor or psychologist.
Like other doctors, psychiatrists employ diagnostic tools like CT scans and MRI in order to observe the structure and function of a patient's brain.
Once a diagnosis is made, these specialists may use behavior or cognitive therapy in order to address the patient's condition, or a multitude of other types of therapy, in conjunction with or in place of medication.
A neurologist is a physician who diagnoses and treats disorders of the nervous system which is comprised of the brain, spinal cord and nerves. These doctors do not perform surgery, but refer patients to neurological surgeons when they determine that surgical intervention is necessary.
Some of the conditions that neurologists diagnose and treat are epilepsy, aneurysms, hydrocephalus, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke, spinal disc herniation, and spinal disease.
In addition to using diagnostic tests like MRI, CT scans, EEG and EMG, neurologists also employ neurological testing to gauge muscle strength and movement, balance, reflexes, sensation, memory, speech, and other cognitive abilities.

First appointment i was kept waiting 90 minutes and would have been longer if I didn't start walking out the door. then the Dr cancelled two separate appointments I had scheduled and took the office three phone calls until they got back to me and then still couldn't get me in. in the meantime, I ran out of the meds he started prescribing for me.
I had to cancel my appoitment due to the terrible snow storm we had as I live in Naugatuck and it wouldn't have been safe for me to drive to his office. He reschulded my appoitment only to find out when I GOT there that he wanted a $75 payment ONTOP of my co payment for canceling the appoitment. I had spoken to the staff the day before my appoitment and they had not said anything about the $75 until I got into the office. When I said it seemed unreasonable and unfair and that I was out of my medication they told me to either pay the $75 or go find another doctor. When I said it was unprofessional how they were handling it because it was pretty rude the dr then said he didn't want to see me at all. I am not out of my medication can't find another dr in any time frame needed and not sure what to do. All he cares about is money not the well being of his patients obviously because he wouldn't have let me walk ou knowing I could have seizures from not having my meds. I did not expect this at all with as good a reviews he has online! So please do yourself a favor and beware just find another doctor who actually cares about his patients.
