Dr. Joel Terrance Isom, MD

I have been with Community MD for about 2 yrs now. They have been excellent. I previously saw Dr. Travis who was very competent and thorough. Yesterday I met Dr. Isom for the first time. I was excited and relieved to find him a warm, caring, knowledgeable and thorough doctor as well. I would recommend this practice and this doctor to everyone. I’m even more excited that they have an office in south Atlanta close to my home.

Dr. Isom his self is a wonderful doctor lets be clear on that. The ladies he has answering the phones, are so unprofessional I don't understand why they are even working in this profession. Some times I can call and get hung up from just being on hold for prescription refills.Theres times im just calling to speak to someone in referrals its an all day thing with them and they will tell you anything to get you off the phone. Also they set an appointment for you and we sit there for hours afters the appointment befor even being seen. this office is just a mess there no corresponding with each other in that office. I really feel that these women are just there to make a check and that's it. theres no care and warmth there. Thinking of switching PC BECAUSE OF IT!

Overall, the checkup went well. I went to a checkup to get a prescription fulfilled and get referrals to other specialist doctors. During the visit, I clearly communicated to the Nurse, Assistant Doctor, checkout clerk, and Dr. Isom that I need prescription fulfilled. I even put the empty prescription bottle into their hands. I asked the checkout clerk on how to fulfill prescription and she mentioned that they entered it and go to the Kroger Pharmacy. I waited 24 hours due my schedule. When I went to the pharmacy, the pharmacist mentioned that no Kroger has the prescription. I immediately call Doctor and they said that they never received filed the request and prescription fulfillment was the purpose of the original visit. The doctor office mentioned that I had to wait until the end of the day before they can submit the prescription. So, I inconveniently have to return back to Kroger and that is disappointing and a waste of time. I know it was an honest mistake and more communication… is needed with the doctor office. Mistakes cannot be tolerated in doctor offices. They should have a better system that communicates with patients.

Dr lsom really seems to care about my health, he also explains things very thoroughly.
