Dr. Joel Lee Kragt, MD

I have a chronic condition impacting my heart. I stay motivated in my healthy ways through quarterly blood screening, a practice my previous doctor advocated. I had to fight through the phone to get a lipid panel for my second quarter visit as he said the cost wouldn't be covered. For my third quarter visit, despite agreeing to this testing during my second quarter visit, it wasn't included in the order and after 2 weeks of back and forth, he refused to order the testing saying it wasn't medically necessary. Note: My insurance has a very low negotiated rate and a high deductible...thus the cost of this does not hit him or my insurance. It is fully paid by me. Despite being a nice guy in office visits, don't ever question his recommendations. He will dig in his heels and force you down his path. After telling him we were not aligned in my treatment plan I that I would be looking for another doctor, he immediately cancelled my appointment and shut down my portal access, removing… my access to my medical records.

We started seeing Dr Kragt when our Dr Sage retired. He is a good listener and very easy to talk to. My husband and I both see him. He spends time with you and wants to keep you healthy!

75 year old senior. Been with Dr Kragt for many years. I find him to be an extremely knowledgeable and compassionate physician. He has addressed any and all issues I have ever had.

DR JoelKragt was a doctor at Dr Sprouls facilty If I could not see Dr Sproul I chose Dr. Kragt .l when The ADVOCATE group split doctors went there own way I was refereed to Dr. Joel Kragt I as well as my family quickly chose him for he handled multiple fields of medicine. I had a situation with my pain management doctor DR. Jason Hennese his office on multiple occasions screwed up my appointments. i was forced to sign an agreement that I was to pay out of pocket because his office personnel failed multiple times to get prior authorization for my epidurals. I am a cancer patient and in constant pain my epidurals where my lifeline to somewhat get through my day . anyway I called Dr Kragt for refills again his nurse had no clue on how to write prescriptions let alone for controlled substance all of a sudden since my situation with another Dr. Dr Jason Hennnese pain management I was told via voicemail from his incompetent nurse that Dr Kragt will no longer be mine or my 11 year old… daughters doctor on voicemail, DOCTOR PATIENT PRIVEALAGE has been broken these doctors communicate and become bias this is a violation and these doctors need to reprimanded for there actions and or suspend there license for some time. I have been violated threatened and forced to pay out of pocket then I find a doctor that left there practice but again because of incompetence I was turned away because of communication between doctors.

I only went to him twice, but oh did he make me uncomfortable. He would ask me a question and then just stare at me after I answered. Made me feel like I wasn't answering right. Not for me.

He is fantastic.

Been going to Dr. Kragt for a while. He's the best! Very calm, relaxed and reassuring. Great bedside manner and expertise. Recommend him highly!

We only switched to Metrodocs because we followed our son's doctor from Advocate. It was a big mistake! Over the 8 years we stayed with Metrodocs, most of the doctors left for one reason or another. All I can say is, the turnover was very telling. We switched around from one doctor to the next in the practice as each one left, some in very strange ways, and then we ended up with Dr. Kragt.Dr. Kragt is one good salesman, and it shows how this practice is focused on making money and not its patients. My family of four was pretty much sick for an entire year, with one thing after another. Each time we came in we were treating the symptoms and not the disease. My husband is a great case in point as to why you should avoid this practice and search for quality care elsewhere.After numerous visits to Metrodocs and seeing Dr. Kragt, my husband who had been very ill for 6 months was pretty much diagnosed with what everyone else had been coming to the practice and being seen for...viruses,… walking pneumonia, etc. During that time, he remained sick and worsening without any BLOOD TESTS ordered, or referrals. NOTHING!Finally, I had enough of it and decided to talk to our son's allergist. This was the best move, because they started checking for everything and running blood tests. From those, we were able to rule out any allergy issues and get a referral to a Rheumatologist where he was given more tests and later diagnosed with Mixed Connective Tissue Disease.The best advice I can give anyone who wants to go to Metrodocs is STAY AWAY and go elsewhere. Doing nothing is not an option for our family, and I would think most people want to get to the root cause versus spending money for bandaids. With our great insurance, we choose better quality care and hope that you do too!Buyer beware!
