Don’t visit this doctor. He is very hyper critical of you. Doesn’t believe any of your diagnoses when you have testing and imaging to prove it. Criticized patients who are trying to loose weight. He should be reported. His bed side manner is horrible. Didn’t offer any suggestions just loose weight. Recommended imaging when he said he couldn’t help me. That’s not Riverview’s policy.

I,m Very disappointed in Dr. Ward and the pain management center. I feel that when a doctor is going to treat you for the pain your having, he should explain to you what kind of treatment he is going to perform and the cost of this . I would have never agreed to a Epidural Injection if he would have only told me what he was going to do. All i wanted was a simple injection. They did not even treat the area,s that were causing me pain. I was very frighten with what he was doing ,never explain anything to me.Now i,m still in pain the cost of this was 2,500 range very costly. I will never go back to Dr. Ward ever again. Dr Ward comes across as a stern man. But, He listens and allows you to say your peice without cutting you off and he explains everything in great detail. I can tell he genuinely cares about the patient and relieving the pain they are in. I've seen him several times and refuse to let any other Dr do injections in my spine again. I think he is awesome and would refer anyone having chronic pain to him.

Had an epidural injection in my lower back. Was nervous as I hadn't been to Dr. Ward before. He was awesome! Barely felt a thing!

Dr. John B. Ward is my hero! I had been to two other doctors, who specialize in pain management. They both told me that my spine was so bad there was nothing they could do to help me. One doctor even told me he wouldn't know where to put the needle that would alleviate the problem. Dr. Ward explained the problems in my spine to me in great detail, which no one had ever done before. He said that I did have numerous serious problems at almost every vertebra in my spine, but that was not a reason not to try to help me. I had one appointment when he put several shots in my back, and I have never had to return. That has been over three years ago, and I am pain free to this day. I am extremely grateful to this kind, highly skilled man who was not afraid to try!

Dr ward is okay as a dcotor. He is kind of grouchy but seems to know his job. My problem with Dr Ward is his billing process. He bills as 'outpatient services' for a hospital for in office procedures performed by other doctors. My copay for another doctor for the same procedure was $40, Dr Ward charged insurance for a copay of $250. The explaination was because of his office location. No one informed me of his shadey billing procedures. Be aware his billing rate makes him over 6x more costly than other more friendly doctors performing the same procdure. I would not recommend him unless you have money to waste.
