Dr. John Bermingham, DO

He is a truly dedicated Diagnostician! Dr. Birmingham is a patient, highly intelligent, great listener! He will extend his skills to gather all clinical information on his patient, and order any testing necessary, and make an informed diagnoses, (even if it is not directly related to Pulmonology!) This Specialist is in a class by himself! He is the true meaning of what a Physician should really strive to be. He's the very, very, BEST!!!

Head for the hills before you even think about heading to his office. I had Power of Attorney over my Mother's medical concerns. My Mother was 89 years old with dementia. I was sitting next to her in the hospital when this Doctor I did not know said to me and I quote "you, out in the hallway, before she (meaning my Mother) thinks that she can hear again." He was bullying me into signing a DNR. I said that I would not because it was only her second day in the hospital. I had him removed from her service, and he sent another Doctor from his practice in to my Mother. I had to ask again for him to be removed from her case. Very rude and abrupt. My Mother passed away on the eleventh day of her hospital stay and upon reviewing her hospital records, I found a DNR ( Do Not Resuscitate) signed by John Bermingham. Unfortunately, there is nothing that I can do about it. I filed a complaint with the State Board of Medical Examiners, as well as Medicare, who referred me to Livanta, an agency… authorized by the Medicare Program to review medical services provided to Medicare patients in your area. I contacted an attorney and he said that this in not a malpractice case, but a case of very bad bedside manner. Think twice and do not use this Pulmonologist. NO STARS

I have been a patient of Dr. Bermingham's for over 12 years. He has been treating my chronic asthma & COPD for just as long. Dr. Bermingham never hesitates to try new treatments and to persist with getting these treatments approved by my frequently changing insurance companies. He spends a long period of time with me during my office visits in discussions regarding my health & general well being.
