Dr. John Stuart Blankenship, MD

I am a new patient of Dr. Blankenship following a car crash with injuries. I noticed when I first saw him that he seemed distracted, but I still had high hopes that he would be okay when he said we would "MRI everything", which, to me, meant a left shoulder, left elbow and left wrist. During my only follow-up, he gave me results of the shoulder, and suggested I started with Physical Therapy, which I did. I waited, and no more results came. I called the office. Someone would call or text me with an appointment. They did, exactly one hour before I was supposed to be there. Unfortunately, I was in heavy interstate traffic with a four-lane road closure due to a flipped semi and was 70 miles away. I called the office to say I may possibly be late and requested a reschedule. Someone would call or text me with that. Fast forward way past 6 weeks, I was still in PT and my wrist is beginning to look extremely bad by this time. The rotator cuff is progressing slowly, and my elbow seems to be the… exact same that it was. NO better, but thank the Lord, no worse. Today, I called the office back and asked about the status of that follow-up appointment. That would be the most disastrous call I would encounter in all my adult life. The first attendant that I spoke to insured me that I had an MRI result for my wrist, but I had to come in person to get the results. I said that is understandable. She placed me on hold for the second person to schedule me. The second person was suffering some kind of something. Without warning, she started accusing me of cursing at her and I had to work extra hard to get a word in edgewise to inform her that she had apparently misunderstood. She refused to listen. She was going to chart my alleged "foul language". The entire time, she insisted that I was cursing her. She never agreed to hear anything else. Tragic that a doctor who is probably a decent guy has his business ruined behind his back like that.

I don't know what world the person that wrote the negative review, but everything said about Dr. Blankship is grossly incorrect. I saw the good doctor today and was very pleased with him and his staff. I would recommend to anyone.

If I could give zero stars I would. Very rushed. Not very welcoming. Does not listen to concerns or symptoms of the patient. Does not try to find a resolution. Does not listen to history of patient and what they have already been experiencing with, certain methods they have tried, etc.. Does not explain in thorough, understandable details what is going on with patient. This guy clearly does not care at all about a patients health and way of living. Will not be returning again. Already asked for a second opinion with a new doctor who ACTUALLY cares about their patients. Not some insensitive, egotistical, arrogant hot shot who shrugs off your health. Very upset with this dr. And the staff was just as bad. Will go elsewhere after I get my xrays.

Dr. Blankenship is fantastic! He performed a surgery on my hand and from start to finish I received top notch care. The staff at HMH are so sweet and caring. Very professional and very kind. Great experience !
