Dr. John Christopher Henry, MD

Dr. Henry is an amazing oculoplastic surgeon. I was referred to him because my left eye kept weeping. After extensive testing over at Hopkins and no diagnosis, Dr. Henry removed scar tissue and removed a plug in my tear duct that had been lodged there for over a year and a half! He is also the first doctor who was able to do surgery on me using local anesthetic! His demeanor is very calming. Chelsea, his assistant, complements him quite well. Beth at the front desk is also very kind and professional. I owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to Dr. Henry! Had it not been for him, I would have had severe complications, perhaps even losing sight in my eye. I also decided to have upper eyelid surgery too. The results are stunning, and I am still healing! I will be forever grateful to a very skilled doctor, as well as a very kind man.

Dr. Henry performed Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) on both of my eyes about two weeks ago. From the first consult through to my follow-up appointment I have been given the best care and concern. Throughout my procedure, both Dr. Henry and his amazing assistant Chelsea kept me informed of what was happening. My comfort was their highest concern. Chelsea was available for any questions I had post surgery, telling me to call her anytime of the day. I had no post-surgery problems at all. I followed the post-surgery instructions and my bruising was basically gone at my follow up about a week later. I'm thrilled with the outcome, Dr. Henry is a very skilled clinician. He is direct and to the point with his recommendations and options. His receptionist Beth has been kind and welcoming of my calls and questions regarding billing etc. I highly recommend this practice.

Probably the best eye surgeon you will find around here, people complain about the least important issues on this site. Dr Henry has removed several cancerous lesions from my eyelids with no complications. You can trust this doctor with your eye surgery, that’s what matters.

This man and his staff are extremely unprofessional and care more about their reviews than actual patient care. Look at their google reviews and how he is arguing and discrediting his patients! He literally will not even say a word to you and will run out the room with no explanation. His office assistant Beth is so rude and careless! Stay away for your own good and health.. You can file a complaint with Maryland Attorney General, Maryland Health Department, and/or Maryland Board of Physicians. He does not need to be practicing medicine.

Rude, dismissive and unprofessional

Everyone in the office is friendly, proficient and professional. Dr. Henry is well respected by his peers and referred by other physicians. I don't know what to think of some reviews on here. If you want to be entertained, go to a night club. If you want to be treated by a professional well-trained physician, go to Dr. Henry.

I was diagnosed by dermatologist that I have a basal cell carcinoma over my left eye lid. I was going to have surgery at the dermatologist office and then go to Dr. Henry for him to close up well Dr. Henry said that there’s no way my procedure should be done in an office so I’m having it done in the hospital he was incredibly friendly. His staff is very friendly, very professional. Very nice. I feel confident in my decision to have Dr. Henry take the cancer off of my eyelid and reconstruct my eyelid. His stuff went above and beyond for me and I cannot think them enough. They recognize my anxiety because of the situation that is a skin cancer and they’ve been so nice and kind.

I saw some reviews here about the office being unfriendly and mostly brushed it off thinking "I don't need them to be friendly, I just need them to treat my issue" boy was I wrong. The bedside manner of both Dr.Henry and his nurse was laughable, I was given no details about the procedure even as they were getting ready to perform it and upon asking questions I was given gruff short answers and it was clear I was annoying the doctor. Trust me and the other one star reviews here, it's worth the extra drive to go anywhere else and just save yourself the trouble.

Was referred here and didn’t take the time to read the terrible reviews ahead of time. Wished that I had as they are all accurate. This office is very cold, unprofessional and doesn’t explain what they are doing. This holds true from the front desk to the assistant and then to the Doctor. Clearly the office staff hates their work culture and are doing what they can to survive. Doctor came in the room, didn’t introduce himself or say Hello. He proceeded to shine a light in my Elementary school aged son and didn’t explain what he was doing. Then proceeded to graphically explain his only treatment plan, surgery. Definitely used words to frighten my son to the point that we were ready to leave immediately. Said nothing else and then played on his computer as we sat there confused. Claimed he had no other options for us beyond surgery despite numerous other options available on 2018. Perhaps he is stuck in his old ways , eager to male money off of surgery and otherwise lazy. Either way, he… will waste your time and ruin your day. Do not visit this “Doctor!”

I was referred to this provider by my eye doctor after an abormal eye exam. Dr. Henry ordered for me to have extensive testing done “stat” I completed all testin that was required, had my follow up appointment, and this guy/his staff are a real piece of work. My first appointment was a terrible experience and the follow up appointment was even worse. From the first encounter with their secretary, to the nurse, and then to Dr. Henry. Everyone is incredibly rude, uncaring, lack professionalism, lack the ability to make eye contact and to top off, Dr. Henry is the most arrogant doctor I’ve ever encountered. There’s no reassurance, there’s no clear/confident answer as to what is going on, he contradicts himself and talks in circles. I would not recommend this provider to anyone.
