Dr. John Christopher Marino, MD

I saw him for the first time when i was 14 and he dismissed nearly everything i said when i spoke. Kept me on meds that i told him didnt work for me after a year of being on them. Even after crying and begging him to do something different he wouldn’t. Walked out of his office multiple times because i was so fed up. He’s definitely contributed to my fear of psych doctors and anyone in that field. Very disorganized and asked me the same exact questions appointment after appointment, despite the issue happening 4 years earlier. Terrible. Absolutely terrible.

Dr. Marino has always treated me with the utmost professionalism and respect. He and his staff make patient care their only priority and have helped me through their consultations and, when needed, prescriptions, to be at my best. Their office is warm and calming and they always make me feel like my best interests are their only concern. I would recommend Dr. Marino and his staff to anyone who needs behavioral health services because they are honest, ethical and truly patient-focused.

I always felt talked down to. I’d try to tell him what was wrong and he would talk over me. He randomly prescribed and took me off medications without any consideration for what it was doing to me. He also would put me on new meds and not see me for months. This actually caused me to become extremely suicidal. When I did finally get to see him in passing he still refused to listen to my concerns and instead of changing my meds he told me I should call the emergency line he provides for emergency counseling if I need it. After leaving his services and going off the BAD MEDS he put me on I felt much better. He is also very sold out to brand name persciption companies. His staff is very unfriendly as well and they went through 4 receptionists in three months. But when I tried to address my concerns about how receptionist was treating me he just got angry and said I was wrong and I was the one who was rude. Even though he admitted to not hearing any of the conversations between me and his… receptionist. This place does not make you feel welcome and will leave you feeling worse then when you started going. Not worth the time. Go to a hospital before ever visiting this man.

I would give zero stars if I could. Seeing this doctor was a complete mess. They scheduled people over my appointments. Prescribed new medication and didn’t see me for a month. And when I went to tell him the new medications were not working he took me into his office and told me I would have to schedule an appointment for next week in order to change medication that we’re having a negative impact on my life! Safe yourself the time and find someone else. In short, unprofessional, unhelpful, and completely generic.

I have been seeing Dr. Marino for years but I am recently feeling a little 'put off'. When I requested DNA testing by Genesight [which I had recently done through his office] for my daughter. He commented that it was not a replacement for what HE does. Hmmm. During another visit he proceeded to talk about Jesus Christ and Christmas...didn't really like that since he had no idea what religion/belief system we subscribe to.

I don't know if it's his obesity or the fact that he didn't remember seeing me or his disorganized notes or not remembering what he prescribed me or the fact that he asks you to stick your tongue out and uncross your legs, but I do not recommend this man to anyone who wants to get better without feeling disgusting and violated. Very gross, creepy man. Bad bad vibes. Did not feel safe sitting in his office.

Best psychiatrist I've seen, after years of seeing multiple. Truly cares about patients.

Condescending, doesn't listen, judgmental, accusational, overall very rude. Not recommended if you're someone that feels a little vulnerable right now or if you feel like you need some help in your life. I left feeling worse than when I came in, and with no answers. He prescribed me a medication for one minor problem of mine that happened to come up in conversation, but no answers or prescriptions for the major problem that I WENT THERE FOR. Disappointed. Plus- you check in and check out in one building but his office is in a separate building that you have to walk to...
