About Dr. John Chuback:
Dr. John Chuback was born and raised in Bergen County and graduated from the Dwight Englewood School. He earned his medical degree from New Jersey Medical School at UMDNJ, in Newark. Dr. Chuback then completed a five-year General Surgical Residency at Monmouth Medical Center (MMC).
Besides an outstanding clinical and academic experience at MMC, the program included intensive surgical training at Beth Israel Hospital in Newark, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan, and Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia.
Dr. Chuback advanced his training further, undertaking a two-year fellowship in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at The University of Rochester Medical Center and the internationally renowned Strong Memorial Hospital, in New York. Dr. Chuback holds triple Board Certification in General Surgery, Cardiovascular Surgery, and Phlebology and is on staff at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood.
Dr. Chuback is a Fellow of The American College of Surgeons, The American College of Chest Physicians, The American College of Cardiology and The International College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
Dr. Chuback was one of the first formally trained surgeons in New Jersey to pioneer the contemporary management of varicose vein disease using minimally invasive, laser-based technology in the office setting. This has been a major advance in the care of metropolitan area residents suffering from vein problems. Dr. Chuback lectures regularly to both the general public as well as medical and surgical communities on cutting-edge approaches to vein treatment. He has also written numerous scholarly articles in the scientific literature.
Dr. Chuback has also had the distinction of being selected by the American College of Phlebology as one of only 16 nationally recognized Preceptors. This position allows him to educate and train other physicians in the modern management of vein problems. Recently, Dr. Chuback became one of the first individuals in the nation to become a Registered Phlebology Sonographer, once again ensuring the highest caliber of care for his patients.
