Dr. John William Coursey, MD

Have never been to his office. Was assigned to me in hospital. Went over a week not seeing him. When he finally showed up we said we had lots of questions and he said he could not stay long because had other patients.

Dr Coursey was my doctor while in Savannah. He is an excellent urologist, a very competent surgeon, and a very friendly person who is easy to speak with. He treated me for prostate cancer (surgery) 6 years ago, and he was also my wife's urologist.

his bedside manner was crappy He pulled a stint out of my Virginia without numbing or prepping of any kind, When I told him how painful it was and crying he told me to suck it up and it isn't that bad. I went to Emory University in Atlanta to a REAL ur ology doctor. When I told him of my experience with dr. Coursey he said that was very UNPROFESSIONAL and VERY INHUMAINE

Too much time lost between appointment availability to see Dr. Coursey, then a few weeks before prostate biopsy is done, then 2 weeks later to receive biopsy results. Was ushered into the office's patient room promptly but was left there alone for one hour before Dr. Coursey came in.

Dr. Coursey is an A plus in all areas. His nurse, Julie, is very nice but I quit communicating with her because it is a fruitless effort. She never gets back to you with an answer. Ever. Messages never answered. Speaking to her directly......Nothing. The girl at the front does not always make you feel warm and fuzzy either. The rest of the staff is wonderful.

I just want to be honest, there are probably good experience if you go here but unfortunenatley I didn't have one. I almost lost my life because of the crappy "whatever" attitude Dr. Coursey had. There were no directions on aftercare which caused me to land in ICU in a comma. Now you could take a chance and hope for the best, but my advice is for you to do your own surgery and that way you have a better chance.

Dr. Coursey and his nursing staff are professional and courteous. Dr. Coursey displayed a good bedside demeanor and manner and was willing to answer all questions asked. I am happy with the care I receive from him every time.

It is one year since my surgery and I am still certain my care from Dr Coursey, his staff and Candler Hospital was by far the best I have ever had in my 65 years.

This has got to be hands down one of the sorriest doctors, along with the rudest staff I have ever had the misfortune of meeting. They do not return ...

Dr. Coursey's early use of robotic surgery was definitely a plus for me.
