Dr. John Edward Sylvester, MD

Dr Sylvester is a world class Radiation Oncologist. I would recommend him to anyone.

First meeting. Outstanding professional manner. Explained everything. I feel very confident in his experience.

During my search for a radiation oncologist, Dr. Sylvester distinguished himself from all others. This includes his staff and his non-medical feeling facily in Lakewood Ranch. By the way, he is now practicing in Sarasota. FL.Time will tell on my treatment, but I could not be more pleased with my choice.

I really don't understand how anyone can say anything positive about this very substandard doctor. After my cancer returned, my prostate seed implant was looked at elsewhere where they were in disbelief at how poorly the seeds were placed and why I have a reoccurence.

I am a flight test engineer and it is in my nature to do a lot of research. That is exactly what I did in searching for a doctor. I had consultations with 4 specialist before seeing Dr. Sylvester. He answered all my questions and provided me with additional information that pertained to my situation. He is very informative and takes his time to explain everything. His office is 250 miles from Saint Augustine Florida and it was well worth the trip to Sarasota, Fl. I had the Brachytherapy procedure last week and I am doing fine. In speaking with the independent medical staff I heard nothing but great comments saying they thought he was the best in the area and there are a few well know Doctors and cancer centers down there. I am just lucky that he relocated from Seattle to Florida, but I would have gone to Seattle if I needed to. I highly recommend Dr. Sylvester you are going to love him.

Extremely experienced, but also very caring and understanding. Explains complicated issues in a way that is easy to follow. He has published many articles on prostate cancer, as well as chapters in medical textbooks.
