The best in his field. Dr Efron got me through two very difficult Crohn’s surgeries. Highly recommended.

Recently my wife had a sub total colectomy at Johns Hopkins hospital in Baltimore. Dr Efron performed the surgery which was flawless with quick recovery. Before the surgery we looked at Johns Hopkins as well as Sloan kettering in NYC. After careful consideration and a lot of research we decided to go with Dr Efron and his amazing staff at JH who were very passionate and caring before and after the procedure. The surgeon skills, hospital facilities and nursing and support staff at Johns Hopkins are second to none. I would strongly recommend Dr Efron for colorectal surgery. Compassion, compassion, compassion is what Dr Efron and his staff at JH are all about.

Jonathan Efron was my first choice out of the forty (40) surgeons in his field at MD Anderson and Johns Hopkins. Immediately upon meeting him, any trepidation I previously had about having rectal cancer evaporated. He listened intently to what I had to say and did not pontificate as so many doctors do. I of course hung on every word he said. He mapped out the fifteen (15)-month regimen that I had to negotiate and delivered on his prediction with uncanny accuracy. He told me initially that my condition was "very curable," and then he proceeded to deliver on his expectation. He did not hedge his bets as so many in his position tend to do. I have now been cancer free and cured for over two and a half years.

Dr. Efron is a highly skilled surgeon who cares deeply for his patients and their wellbeing. He explains things fully and both listens to and answers any questions you may have as well as addresses any concerns a patient may express. He is the best of the best!

Phenomenal Dr. His success rate is about 10x national average re leak rates etc. Surgical skill is incredible. Administrative staff and team he has put in place are outstanding too. He is very detail oriented, caring, empathetic and down to earth given his status. After surgery care and follow up are excellent too. I travel nationally to see this surgeon and am so glad I did.

Dr. Jonathan Efron is a very skilled, talented and amazing surgeon. He saved my husband's life. My family and I will always be forever grateful. My husband is 37 years old and was diagnosed with stage III colorectal cancer. Dr. Efron was able to remove a 5 cm tumor from his colon through laproscopic surgery. We would recommend him and his staff 100%. Also to note, Tam Warczynski is Dr. Efron's nurse. She is TRULY AMAZING! Dr. Efron and Tam are a great pair and will support you and your family!

You don't choose a surgeon for their bedside manner. I highly recommend Dr. Efron. We chose him to remove my rectal cancer knowing he had high likelihood of saving my sphincter, which meant I would not have to stay in a colostomy bag for the rest of my life.

He saved my husband's life.

I gave Dr. Efron a perfect score but compared to other surgeons and offices I had visited, it was a bit more difficult to communicate with his staff and wait times are longer. However, if you decide to get surgery he is hands down amazing. Forget about anything else. I didn't care to wait 30+ minutes for appointments. He works at Johns Hopkins Hospital. They are the #1 hospital in the US. He takes on cases that are referred to him by surgeons in his speciality. I went to him because he has so much experience with so many difficult cases. His surgical skills is like art. I know some other doctors had more time with me but his surgery was amazing. I highly recommend him if you can look past the fact he works at a very busy hospital but you need life saving surgery. After surgery you may not see much of him and his ancillary staff will take care of you, but you won't need to see him because he gets it right from the beginning. He is probably a top 10 colon and rectal surgeon in the… nation.
