Dr. Joseph G Foust has the following 1 specialty
- Family Medicine
A family practitioner is a doctor who specializes in caring for people of all ages, at all stages of life. Rather than focusing on the treatment of one disease or patient population, family practitioners are often the doctors that people see for their everyday ailments, like cold and flu or respiratory infections, and health screenings. When necessary, family practitioners will provide referrals for conditions that require the expertise of another specialist.
The doctors may also provide physicals, inoculations, prenatal care, treat chronic diseases, like diabetes and asthma, and provide advice on disease prevention.

I've used this office for many years and was pleased to be with a doctor that took time with each patient and did not have a waiting room that was overflowing due to patients being scheduled to closely together, but those days are long gone. For the last year, Joe has allowed his staff to run his office down. The appointments are scheduled entirely too close and this does not allow him to spend adequate time with each patient. I too have been a patient who spoke up about something wrong in the office and to "punish" us, they refuse to take myself and my spouse back together, claiming it is new policy but when bringing in someone else for an appointment, I personally witnessed them take couples back together on a few occasions after said policy was enacted. They were not elderly and were not handicapped, so policy is for punishment not everyone. Don't even think about asking him require his staff to follow through on anything, he gets immediately defensive and says you are the problem. I have heard him (while in the room waiting) defend his staff for their wrongs time after time and it prompted me to begin to pay more attention to them and what they were doing/not doing. When I have needed referrals, if the referral is not gotten immediately from him, the staff will not follow through and any phone calls are ignored. If I need refills and make mention of this during my appointment, Joe will say that the nurse will handle it, but it is never handled. The pharmacy and several other offices in town complain about getting anything done with his office. He shares personal information about other patients with you as well as who they are. HIPPA violation?! I have read all of the reviews and I have to say this, if you are ok with your care being handled by a doctor who does not and will not hold his staff accountable and you are fine with your personal information being shared with other patients who you don't even know, by all means, call them. They actually are accepting new patients daily as the ones who have been faithful and kept him in business are starting to wise up and leave!
He is accepting new patients because he allows his staff to run off the current patients. Staff definitely has their favorite pick patients that they will treat well. If you make the docs wifey mad she will see to it that the nurses treat you differently. His first wife had a much better attitude maybe they could hire her to run the office. You definitely need to keep your kids out of the office and not all over the counter while the receptionist is trying to help me check out. Maybe the wife who likes to play favorites with the nurses can stay home with them. I don't like to complain but things are out of order in his office and he needs to get it in check. I am sick of seeing the differential treatment with the patients, I was hopeful that the hospital buying him out would help but he seems to fly under the radar somehow. There is a difference in his attitude over the years. He is a great doctor who has allowed his profession to grow to the point where he no longer cares for his patients. His staff has him booked so closely that you can't get an appointment if you call and you are sick, they tell you to go to Urgent Care or to the ER. He doesn't see you in the hospital and he doesn't treat anything other than maintenance care and maintenance medicine. If you have a different choice, find a doctor that can offer more than 15 minutes and an office full of attitude.
Waiting area is joined with other doctors and is a little confusing when you enter. His lab waiting is also included in his 7 or 8 whole chairs meaning that you have to sit in the chairs for other doctors. Getting an appoitment is like asking for gold from a stranger. I have been using Dr. Foust's office since right after he started here and the staff continues to decline. The office manager is Dr. Foust's wife. Having had to speak with her a couple of different times, I can tell you that she is full of attitude. Not sure if she spends too much time in the office or not enough but she is not helpful and beyond rude. The front desk ladies are probably the best addition to the office and since they have the new answering service, they can screen their calls allowing more time for chatting with you at the window. Dr. Foust is a great doctor and really knows his stuff but his staff is bringing his office down. Over the past several years, I have seen an increase in his patients and a decrese in his staff. He allows his head nurse and wife to run the office which seems quite weak. Dr. Foust should do an overhaul and I am sure that his practice would be booming with happy patients. If you like kissing butt, you can be chummy with the head nurse Carol and she will pull favors for you but her moods change like the wind so you never know if she is going to be a hateful raging wench or a nice nurse from visit to visit. Sadly the head nurse takes as little time as possible with patients while acting like she is doing you a favor by being there. She will not be questioned ever. You can't ask her anything, she immediately gets defensive and will take it out on you for every visit after that. Mary in the lab is ok, she has pretty much no attitude or personality but at least she is not acting like a snot. The new younger nurses are quite nice that seem to be part of the hospital buying his practice but if they remain with the old staff, I don't look for it to stay this way. You can't put fresh apples in with a couple of rotten ones and expect it to stay that way, they will eventually adopt the attitude of those around them.
