- Internal Medicine
An internist is a physician who focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions that affect the adult population—both acute and chronic.
These doctors are often who adults see as their primary physicians because they treat a broad range of illnesses that do not require surgical or specialist interventions. They also work to help a patient maintain optimal health in order to prevent the onset of disease.

Thought anyone looking at this should know that after he forced me off my medication I fought for it. Finally, my new PCP said that if a neurologist gave the OK then I could go back on the med. The neurologist said that Dr. Wright was very WRONG and I could go back on my medication whenever. I will be keeping his letter to prove this in case there's any other DR like Dr. Wright out there who tries to force the issue. Here's a lesson, always get a 2nd opinion and don't let Dr. Wright force you into something you're not comfortable with!
I saw DR. wright for the first time a few months ago. He informed me that a mediation prescribed by another doctor that I'd been taking for years increased my stroke risk by like a %. He informed me of the risks which I said I felt didn't outweigh the benefits. I took time to think about it and told him I didn't want to switch and to please drop it. Especially cause my other options weren't as good. I asked him not to speak to my other dr about it either. Well he decided to force me. He called my other doctor and scared her into making me see a specialist before she'd prescribe any more. Needless to say he is no longer my dr. I called the AMA to complain. While what he did is legal they said it wasn't right and they didn't blame me for being really upset. He is not to be trusted and he does not take patient feelings into account. It really felt like he cared more about his ego than me.
He's a newly minted doc and , while he seems like a nice guy,is slow on the uptake, does not return even urgent calls, neglected to make expected referral, and the one referral he did make was completely off. I know it's hard to find a PCP, but he was a waste of time.
Thank you for reviewing your experience with me. I always appreciate feedback about how my patients view their care. I'm sorry that you did not get your needs met in your care, and that you felt that you had an inappropriate referral. I am sure that I will be always learning in my practice for as long as I am a physician; and I hope that that you tell me, our office, and/or our patient relations department, about what parts of the system are not working for you. While we have an extensive system for phone and online communication, as well as a dedicated prescription staff for automated renewal of most prescriptions, it is unfortunately true that sometimes our system does not work or I misunderstand what you feel that you need. For urgent concerns I particularly recommend speaking to our nursing staff who can help find prompt solutions to issues immediately even when doctors are busy with other patients in clinic. If I am not the right match for you, or a specialist physician did not give you the care you needed, it is my job to find you a physician who more closely meets your needs and expectations, whether in primary care or specialty care. Please let me know if you need any help in finding a new physician if you choose to go elsewhere and have not found a suitable PCP or specialist.
Spends more time talking about emotions than spending time on your actual physical problem. Asks too many personal questions about home life that do not have to do with medical visit.
Thank you for reviewing your experience with me. I always appreciate feedback about how my patients view their care. I'm sorry that you did not feel that some of the questions asked in your visit were helpful to your healthcare. Whether you are continuing in my practice, or are now seen elsewhere, please always feel free to ask why your doctor is asking the questions he or she asking. If we are doing our jobs right, there is usually a reason for the questions, and I'm always glad to tell you why I'm asking.
