Dr. Joseph Mirakhor, MD

I came to the ER with difficulty breathing from breathing in particles that may be from chipped old paint in a very old house and Dr. Mirakhor walked in with an upset look on his face as if I woke him up from his sleep. He refused to do any tests and only briefly listened to my lungs and walked out of the room. He said maybe my lungs were irritated from whatever I breathed in.

My husband and I brought our two year old son to the emergency room this morning around 4 a.m. to be checked out because we couldn’t get his fever to break for almost two days. Dr. Joseph Mirakhor was the physician who “treated” our son. When I say “treated” it should be noted that there wasn’t much treating that occurred. He came in with an attitude from the moment he walked in the door. He almost seemed put out to even be in the room. I explained to him that our son had been brought to our local emergency room in our hometown on Sunday when he had started running fever and had a cough. He was then swabbed for flu and for strep and both came back negative. The doctor we saw there decided to treat him for flu and strep anyway with Tamiflu and Amoxicillin. I told Dr. Mirakhor that the main concern we are having is that we can’t get our son’s fever to break. He seemed to be getting worse to us and not better so we were worried about him and wasn’t sure if this was normal. Dr. Mirakhor… then proceeded to tell me that I probably wasn’t administering my sons fever reducer medications correctly, even though I had been following direct orders from the previous physician we saw on Sunday. The only “treating” Dr. Mirakhor performed was listening to our sons lungs. He never checked his throat or his ears or anything else for that matter. He had zero concern for our child and treated us as if we were overreacting parents. When my husband asked if he would have our son swabbed for flu again he said “There is no point, he is already being treated for flu so what would it matter?”. Wouldn’t the physician want to know what is actually wrong with the patient not just assume that what he had previously been treated for was correct. Wouldn’t he want to check the patient out further and not just assume that the previous physician’s diagnosis was correct? He then proceeded to tell us that they would give our son an antibiotic shot to treat the unknown illness. He wasn’t even sure what is going on with our child and never even made an effort to get to the root of the problem. So disappointed with the care our child received.

Twice I have dealt with this doctor in the ER. Most recent for chest pains. He spent more time walking the hall looking at his phone than in the room. On discharge he NEVER came in to give me the results, he left it to the nurse. He needs to find another profession where he works by himself.

Horrible. That is all I can say. He was my er doctor. I fell down the stairs and had a misserable head ache for days. He barely came into the room. Didn't touch me. Then asked if I was drunk when I fell. No. Then he sent me home. The whole visit was under 2 minutes. He billed me. $1226.10 Because he claims it was a level 4 out of 5 emergency (5 being most severe). I am repulsed at the poor service and bad attitude he had. Don't go to him!

This may be the worst doctor I have ever used. He was not a choice-he was on duty in the emergency room. He was rude, impatient, did not help in the least-run, run, run from this man.

Poor bedside manner. Lacks a gentle touch.

I went to the hospital and was dying from a bullet wound. Mirakhor saved my life. I owe him my life. I hope he reads this.

Saw him last month and had me in and out of the ER within a hour and was feeling better within the next 2 days with and medications.

I am naturally scared of seeing doctors, but Dr. Mirakhor is really understanding and knowledgeable about the field. He made me forget about my worries right away. I would highly recommend him...wait time was a little long.
