Dr. Joseph W Queeney, DO

Dr. Queeny was very dismissive to me anytime I tried to speak. He was even worse at my second appointment. He barely looked at me and said you're already healed you should be fine. I wasn't fine, I was still in alot of pain and when I tried to ask him why he accused me just wanting pain meds. I literally have a visible lump on my upper spine that is a recent development. Dr. Queeny said he did not want to look at that because that isn't what I was initially there for. He is very uncaring and couldn't have left the room quicker. His nurse is the same although the front desk people are nice.

I had fusion surgery done by Queeney in Sept. 2009. After 6 weeks of recovery time I advised the Dr that I was still in a great deal of pain. He offered 3 weeks of Phys-Therp but advised me I was released after that was completed. I went to a Dr in Tulsa who did an MRI of my lumbar and advised me that I still had a disc that also needed to be fused and he didn't understand why Queeney hadn't fused it during the surgery. He also advised me there had been NO bone fusion (failed surgery). He also told me that the procedure that Queeney had used on me, the Tulsa Dr had stopped using 20 years ago (!!!!!!)

I ruptured a disk in my back the beginning of this year. Went through my family doctor and tried to get appointments through who they recommended - no luck. I decided to search on my own through my insurance directory and found Dr. Queeney.I was a little worried based off of the reviews on here, but I have to say, THANK GOODNESS I did not listen.This doctor knew exactly what he was doing. He read my MRI, identified what was wrong and scheduled me for surgery ten days later. He helped me understand what would be happening and spent time with myself and my family to make sure they understood as well.Day of surgery came and he visited with me before I went back. Out of surgery that night and the next day came by and spent time with me, answering any and all questions I had (even though I am pretty sure I asked questions that were on the sheet he gave me...I was out of it, I had an excuse...) He patiently answered every one.He scheduled me to come back in a month, two weeks no riding in a… car and two weeks passenger only. He knew exactly what he was doing with that too because the pain subsided two weeks after surgery and my strength was back to about 80% before I returned to work.My follow up was amazing. Answered my laundry list of questions again without hesitation.He is a very personable doctor - I honestly wish he was my family doctor!I know that if he thinks you need surgery he will do it. Nothing but love for this dr!!

I have suffered for 5 months with severe back pain after a motorcycle wreck. My family Dr. refered me to Dr Queeney. I got an apointment quicker than we expected and on that day we headed out on the 80 mile trip to see Dr Queeney with optimism that we were finnally going to get the answers we have been searching for. Mri showed damage to my back from my neck to hip. The office staff at check in were great and our expectations hightened. But that was soon destroyed in the consult with Dr Queeney. First off he asked what my problem was. I told him I am in pain from here to here indicating from base of neck to my butt. He said ok pick a spot. So I picked the spot of most concern by my family Dr. My cervex. Right away he said I don't need surgery. I protested and He went and looked at MRI again. He came back and again said "I am a surgeon you don't need surgery go back to your Dr and let him try again".We pleaded with him as to what I need. He said "I am a surgeon you don't need sugery we… are done here". With a little more from us he instructed his secretary to set up a myelogram and another test. And we were excused. My wife and I walked out to the parking lot and started crying. this was the coldest uncaring experience with a Dr I , we have experienced in my 51 years of life.

Dr. Queeney is a gifted and talented neurosurgeon. We are very fortunate to have a doctor of his caliber here in Fort Smith, AR. Though Dr. Queeney is a man of few words, his bedside manner is professional, caring, and kind. He performed cervical bone fusion on my spine between C5-6. The results were immediate as well as excellent.Dr. Queeney is an excellent surgeon, and I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

My Grandfather was send to this "specialist" for multiple compression fractures of his back and possible repair by my grandfathers nurse practitioner. Dr. queeney spent the whole visit berating the nurse practitioner and their skills and did not even lay a hand on my grandfather. Dr. queeney said.."there is nothing wrong with you" and dismissied him. I was concerned so I asked the nurse practitioner to refer him elsewhere and was given an appointment with a wonderfull neurosurgeon in Fayetteville who confirmed my fathers vertibre compression fractures and repiared them with vertebraplasty.Dr. queeney you are awfull, listen to what other health care providers are trying to tell you. My grandfather was sent to you for help, but you blew him off.. That nurse practitioner that you blew off and was so rude about knows a heck of a lot more about careing for patients then you ever will.

I had a Spinal Fusion of L3 to L4 for Stenosis done by Dr. Qeueeneyin Sept. 2010. I have been having problems with pain and weekness in my right leg ever since. I was sent by Dr. Q's staff to see a pain management specialist for injections to reduce scar tissue. The Pain Dr. Saw something he didn't like in my last MRI, but there was no MRI report in the Drs. notes from Dr. Q to the pain specialist. The pain specialist had a Neurosurgeon he knew take a look at it. That Nsurgeon concluded it was nothing serious. No one ever questioned Dr. Queeney's treatment nor skill,Yet Dr. Queeney was insulted and now neither he nor any member of his staff will return my calls or help provide needed information to my disability claims company. I feel completely betrayed by Dr. Queeney.
