Dr. Joseph Neville Shepherd, MD

My appointment was at 8. I was supposed to be there at 7:30. I couldn't find the place. I called the office for help, but the office will not answer the phone before 8. so I got there at 7:58. I was told that the doctor will not see me because it takes 30 minutes to fill out paperwork and he is really busy. Here is the question: if there is someone to receive people at 7:30 can't that person answer the phone to direct NEW patients. If your office is really busy, don't take new patients.

Office staff is horrible. The staff is argumentative and abrasive. Cindy, Gracie, and the nurse Torrie are all rude and inefficient. We have been trying for over a month to get FMLA papers completed and faxed after being charged a $50 fee to do so. The papers have NOT been received by the appropriate office as of todays date. I advise anyone considering this office to stay clear. This has been the most awful experience of I have ever had dealing with a healthcare provider.

My appt was for a physical but I had several problems I needed to discuss. Dr Shepherd was very courteous and took time to explain the problems and ways to address them. Courteous staff. Very good visit.

The office & nursing staff are so rude & condescending. I will never return. Dr. Sherpard is very kind, last time I was in his nurse was very condescending to him in front of me over a shot the office did not offer. If I treated my clients so poorly I would not have a JOB!!!!

I started seeing this doctor after I moved states and needed a PCP. I also I have a rare debilitating birth deformity that causes me chronic pain. I had been on pain Meds since 2011 and had another specialist taking care of me up until that point but I went to him that day not to ask for Meds (I had a current prescription) but to see if he could help refer me to a pain management clinic. First of all, he walks in when I begin to talk about my pain, he RUDELY says, ummm I don't know what you're talking about. Oh ok, my bad. Guess I just gave you the benefit of the doubt you read my chart before you walked in and saw that I have a serious medical condition with a previous 15 surgeries. So, when I ask about a referral, he literally says to me, "I don't have time to treat chronic pain. Life is too short. There's a pain clinic on one of these floors in this building. Try looking around on your way out." And yes I am at a pain clinic now, and yes you 100% do have to have a doctors referral… but I guess he wouldn't know that since he doesn't have time for that.

I waited over 1 hour for my appointment and they have some rude office ladies that want to make you feel weird. The problem I had was personal and I needed to talk to the doctor about the issue. I did not want to tell a 70 yr old mean office lady my issue. They were in such a hurry for a co pay. I will never go there again.

Dr shepherd has been my primary care physician for 10+ years. He was great until (a) he switched offices and you feel like cattle being hurdle through the halls following the arrows, and (b) I had real serious conditions- more than the crud. Years ago I had kidney stone and for weeks he said I did not and when I showed him where I was hurting he said "that's not where your kidney is". Needless to say I had surgery to have it removed. I stayed with him. I have recently become very ill and dr shepherd gave me a half diagnosis. I went to see him for the crud and a few issues related to the chronic ongoing condition. The office lady Gracie is rude and has no class! She basically told me my condition was not an emergency and other patients were more important! waited almost 2 hours!!!! I still never had a chance to visit the Doctor. I will never go back to this office again!!!!!!!

Dr. Shepherd has been my Dr. for many years. He has always diagnosed me correctly, taken his time with me and is always kind. All of my family also go to him. BEST Dr. I have ever had! Highly recommended physician.
