They will TAKE your money!! I went to this doctor for an annual skin cancer screening and casually mentioned a spot on my nose to check for melanoma. The doctor said "it's not skin cancer, but let me remove it for you real quickly", rolled away, and rolled back with a small tool and zapped it off. It all happened so quickly, with no explanation and no time to ask questions. Needless to say, I did NOT know this would be considered a "procedure", billed to insurance, and hit me with a hefty bill a couple weeks later. I did NOT authorize this to happen, and would NOT have had this removed, if I had known ahead of time. When I called about this, they informed me that "the doctor does not typically discuss with a patient what will run through insurance or be considered a cost. You should assume anything that happens with the doctor will cost money." I'd love to know how a business can operate this way, not informing its patients or having them authorize 'next steps' with a doctor before… taking action? You would think consent would be required? Not to mention, where do you draw the line? The doctor also spoke to me while I was there - was that considered a "consultation" that costs money too? Seems like a money-hungry, non-ethical place to me. I called insurance, and they let me know the doctor has the power to retract the claim - but he refuses to do so, once again telling me I should have assumed it would cost money and that's my fault. I would NOT recommend this doctor to anyone and will not be going back!!!

Always a smile and handshake when dr Shire comes in . Exam seems quick but he does check everything exposed , and his assistant will ask if you have any concerns prior to his exam . Always willing to freeze a mole off or take care of skin tags if asked . I have recommended to family and friends , and the wait time is usually minimal

I was referred to Dr. Shirer and have been returning every 6 months or so and as needed. For the most part, my average wait has been about 15 minutes. I ask questions, he answers them. His Nurses, Assistants and office team have all been professional and friendly.

Dr. Shirer is a wonderful doctor and his staff is very nice. I had a great experience! The girl who does check in was wonderful!!

Dr. Shirer is OK and personable however he passes off some things to assistant who on occasion handled biopsy poorly. The office management is poor. Do not answer phones as listed. Scheduling is poor - EXCESSIVE wait times. Seem to be plenty of workers but they appear to be inefficient. There is quite an army standing around as he rushes in and rushes out.

Dr. Shirer always greets me with a smile and handshake. He is extremely professional, thorough, and knowledgeable. He's open to questions and will provide solutions. I have 100% confidence in his diagnoses, and treatments. Plus, he's kind and considerate, as is his staff. I've had a lot of doctors - Dr. Shirer is at the top of the list.
