Dr. Joseph Shvidler

Where to begin? There's so many excellent elements to his practice. I'll start with the consultation. Dr. Joe came in as excited to meet me as I was to him. He sat down and attentively heard out all of my concerns (which ranged from medical related to cosmetic). And when I was through, he passionately dived deep into educating me about my symptoms while beginning to walk me through his throught process behind his diagnosis in a simple to understand way. Next, we conducted a few simple tests which determined I indeed had a deviated septum, as well as overly enlarged turbinates which explained my difficulty breathing. He then asked me to elucidate on my expectations regarding the cosmetic portion and then helped me to articulate my desired results so that we could both make sure we were on the same page. I also felt that he always had my best interest at heart because the advice he proceeded to give me about my procedure was not only fully explained, but clearly thoughtful. It didn't… feel at all like up-selling, but rather guidance on what the outcome of my procedure would be like if I didn't make a simultaneous adjustment to another portion of my face. He simply wanted me to be aware, which I appreciated greatly. After some thought, I came to the same conclusion he did and decided to book my surgery as he originally suggested. I even felt confident enough in his skills to add an additional procedure to make my results stand out. He and his staff were always ready to help me, they were just a phone call away. And even though my wife and I live hours out of town, they helped to facilitate an experience that felt second nature to taking a leisurely trip. You can see they work tirelessly to address so many things at once, yet are so quick and efficient that you have to make sure not to take a single one of them for granted. Come day of the procedure, they walked me through each step of the way. And as I took one final chance to speak with Dr. Shvidler to go over any last minute concerns, he empathetically prepared me for the process in a humble and yet confident regard. Next thing I knew, I was waking up and the first thing I recall is seeing him on my side saying "You doing okay?" It was the final touch to this experience that reminds one that they were not forgotten about in even the slightest of ways. His follow-ups addressed my struggles, and he patiently thought of the best course of action at any turn I felt was difficult. By just a few days later, I was on my way to breathing better than ever and now, after my splint was removed, all the pieces of the puzzle came together like magic. I got the most natural result I could have imagined. I'll probably wake up tomorrow thinking I was born with these results. Please, whoever you are reading this, know that you are booking with one of if not the best in the whole PNW for plastic or reconstructive surgery. Know that Dr. Joe is an artist at heart and he has a drive for satisfying his patients. It's a team effort that if you go for, you be honored that you cooperated with him. Do not think you are sacrificing any quality by choosing Shvidler over Portuese. One is merely the left nostril, so to say, and the other is the right. There's not necessarily a better choice, one just happens to be more well known. And when the secret is out that Dr. Joe knows? There's going to be a long line to get in that you'll wish you booked way sooner!

I can breathe! I’d been told after a surgery to live with the results which did not fix all my breathing issues with nose. Dr Shvidler did and I’m so grateful! His staff is delightful and scheduling was no problem. For any future issues I will trust them with this doctor.

I lost most of the right side of my nose from cancer. Dr. Shvidler reconstructed a nostril with tissue from my forehead. He filled in the flesh part of my nose, again from my forehead & used cartilage from my right ear to reinforce it so it wouldn't collapse. I was overwhelmed at the whole thing, but had to trust him! Three surgeries later I have a fine nose that matches my left side! I am truly amazed at Dr. Shvidler's skill as a surgeon. He is truly gifted in his profession and an answer to my prayers. You are in good hands if you are with Dr. Shvidler!

I lost half of my nose to melanoma. I had three surgeries done in order to achieve the best outcome. Dr. Shvidler was pleased with the results. I was relieved! He created a new nostril and complete right side of my nose. It looks fine and I am very grateful! Dr. Shvidler is an answer to prayers. The whole experience was positive. Dr Shvidler performered my rhinoplasty and I couldn't be happier with the results! I feel like he's under rated in the rhinoplasty world (online) only because I couldn't find many reviews/photos but he is truely skilled. I couldn't have wished for better results. From a cosmetic point of view, I feel like a new woman with a brand new sense of confidence. From a medical point of view, my breathing is even better. Which surprised me because I didn't realize it could get better lol. Overall Dr Shvidler is a great surgeon and a sincere person.

Dr. Joseph Shvidler is unique in his field, as he combines the wonderful qualities of technical skill, insight and compassion. He is forthright, yet personable. He conducted two procedures on me at Madigan Army Medical Center and both resulted in better inner and external health. I can't say enough about this first-class professional. I would recommend him without question and I wish others will emulate him.
