I saw Dr. Mora three times first time she saw me as an emergency second and third time she started a treatment plan so far so good.

I took my 15-year-old son to this allergist per referral by his primary care provider. When my son started high school at the age of14, his eczema started to get worse (all over his body, especially the face). Upon my son's initial visit, Dr. Mora stated that she would prescribe medications for my son that would clear up the eczema and make him feel, "On top of the world." My son and I were very hopeful when we were given that reassurance. The medications prescribed were prednisone and an antibiotic (cannot recall the specific name). The eczema got better while my son was taking the two medications up until a week after completing the course of the drugs. The condition started to flare up again. About 3 months later, my son was back to Dr. Mora's clinic for a follow-up visit. The physician was informed that the medications she prescribed only improved the condition for a short period of time. She pulled out her prescription pad again to write down exactly the same drugs that she had… ordered before in addition to a topical ointment. My son was given a sample of the ointment, which we found out later on to be a highly expensive medication ($250.00 per tube without an insurance and $75.00 with the type of insurance we have). My son refused to take the steroid (prednisone) and antibiotic again. He did, however, give the ointment a try but to no avail. I think that it is unwise to give a teenager a false reassurance especially when he/she is struggling with one's self-esteem. Dr. Mora and her staff were very accommodating of their patients and their families. It's unfortunate that she was not able to be effective in treating my son's skin disorder. My son's primary provider is now referring him to another allergist/immunologist. Wish us luck!
